About this Ash of War

The ready stance costs no FP. Fire with the attack input for the selected arrow slot to spend 6 FP and one arrow.

Fully drawing the shot strengthens its damage and status buildup and lets part of its damage get through a guard. It does not make every shield irrelevant or guarantee a guard break.

A fully drawn hit applies 170% of the arrow's normal status buildup. That helps a status arrow build its existing ailment; it does not add an ailment to plain arrows or increase the damage of a later bleed or Frostbite burst.

In-game description

Notes

  • The ready stance costs no FP. Fire with the attack input for the selected arrow slot to spend 6 FP and one arrow.
  • Fully drawing the shot strengthens its damage and status buildup and lets part of its damage get through a guard. It does not make every shield irrelevant or guarantee a guard break.
  • A fully drawn hit applies 170% of the arrow's normal status buildup. That helps a status arrow build its existing ailment; it does not add an ailment to plain arrows or increase the damage of a later bleed or Frostbite burst.
  • The draw takes longer than a normal shot. Use distance or an enemy's recovery, and release early or abandon the shot if the opening closes.
  • The stronger arrow still needs a clear line of fire and remains affected by range and the target's defenses. Its partial shield piercing does not mean it passes through walls.
  • Many bows already have Mighty Shot. The Weeping Peninsula scarab awards the separate Ash for installation on another compatible bow.
  • Damage uses the equipped bow and selected ammunition, including the bow's reinforcement and actual attribute scaling. The skill does not supply free arrows or give every bow new Intelligence, Faith or Arcane scaling.
  • Shard of Alexander improves the damaging skill shots, while holding the ready stance does not qualify for Godfrey Icon. An arrow-damage bonus increases damage rather than directly increasing ailment buildup.
  • This Ash uses the Standard affinity. Its equipment type does not receive the usual melee affinity choices.
  • Compatible weapon classes: Light Bow, Bow. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
