About this Ash of War

This Ash of War grants an armament the Keen affinity and the following skill:

"Raging Beast: Step with the swiftness of a beast, leap high, and slash foe from above. Initial step can be taken forward, backward, left, or right. Strong attack allows for a follow-up attack."

Starting Site of Grace: Bridge Leading to the Village

1. From Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, follow the road east to Moorth Ruins and activate the grace beside the cross.
2. Pass through the large stone arch east-southeast of the grace. At the house ahead, turn left toward the leaning tower. Avoid the large open shaft behind the house, which is too deep for a direct drop.
3. Find the smaller gap between the broken building and the rock wall in front of the leaning tower. Drop onto the balcony-like ledge, turn right past the dogs and follow the cave inward.
4. In the open chamber at the end, take the back-left ledges down onto the lower roof. Look for the small shrine guarded by three Inquisitors and collect Golden Arcs from the chest inside.
5. To continue east, drop from the lower roof to the ground and take the cave beside the building on the left. Follow it to the long ladder and climb out of the well at Bonny Village grace.
6. Cross both bridges east of Bonny Village and activate Bridge Leading to the Village.
7. Follow the road north toward the cathedral region. Look east to the small hill beside the road, southeast of Manus Metyr.
8. Find the scarab among the rocks and attack from range before it teleports.
9. Kill it for Raging Beast. Rakshasa's distant mausoleum encounter is not required.

Notes

• The opening step can move forward, backward or sideways before the pounce. Use direction input to choose your angle.
• A strong attack adds the airborne follow-up and slam. That is extra commitment, not an automatic free continuation.
• The evasive step does not make the entire attack sequence invulnerable. A wide attack can catch your pounce or landing.
• It belongs on Beast Claws, which are a separate class from ordinary claws.
• Compatible weapon classes: Beast Claw. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
• Its default affinity is Keen. The supported choices are Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood and Occult; the appropriate whetblade is needed for additional options.
• Costs 7 FP for the first step and claw strike. A heavy follow-up adds the midair swipe and slam for another 7 FP, making 14 FP total.
• The first contact uses 145% of weapon attack power, followed by 70% and 160% in the continuation. Damage follows the Beast Claw’s affinity and attributes.
• The three contacts apply full, half and full weapon status buildup respectively. Three visuals therefore do not mean three full applications.
• The opening step has a brief evasive window, with a shorter window against other players. It does not cover the whole pounce and follow-up.
• Shard of Alexander and suitable consecutive-hit bonuses can improve the skill. Godfrey Icon and Claw Talisman do not apply simply because the follow-up leaps.
• Red Bear’s Claw has its own fixed Red Bear Hunt and cannot use this Ash. Beast Claw is the compatible infusible weapon in that class.
