Starting Site of Grace: Liftside Chamber
- From Liftside Chamber, ride the lift up and leave through the eastern doorway into the yard. Continue through the doorway leading to the approach before Godrick's arena.
- Follow the path on the left and jump onto the narrow stone ledge. Follow it around through the archway and back outside, then turn right into the next room.
- Climb the stairs northwest, turn left outside and follow the wooden walkway west through the next doorway. Continue through the enemies to the great cavern beneath the castle, opening the shortcut back to Liftside Chamber when you reach it.
- Turn south and descend the ledges into the tower below. Pass through it and use the broken beams to drop into the underground crypt one level at a time.
- Clear or avoid the rats, go south and then east through the lower passage, and kill the scarab for Rancorcall. You do not have to defeat the large creature farther down the crypt.
Notes
- Requires 16 Intelligence, 14 Faith and one memory slot. Costs 12 FP and is cast with a glintstone staff. The pursuing spirits deal magic damage, not holy damage or Death Blight.
- Releases six spirits toward the target. Hold the cast to charge them for a modest damage increase and longer pursuit, without increasing the FP cost or the number of spirits.
- The spirits take time to reach the enemy. That delay gives you room to move or prepare a follow-up while they travel, but walls and fast evasive targets can prevent some of them from connecting.
- Godfrey Icon increases damage when the cast is fully charged. Ordinary sorcery and magic-damage bonuses also apply; Shard of Alexander does not, because this is a spell rather than a weapon skill.
- Ancient Death Rancor releases more spirits with better interruption and stance pressure, but needs higher attributes and more FP. This version can still provide delayed pursuit before you can use the stronger spell.
- Prince of Death's Staff gives a 10% damage bonus. You can hold it active in the other hand while a different staff casts, and two copies multiply to 21%. Only the staff doing the casting supplies sorcery scaling.
- Meeting both spell requirements does not force every staff to scale with both attributes. An Intelligence staff still gets its casting strength from Intelligence, while Prince of Death's Staff uses Intelligence and Faith. Choose the casting staff around the attributes you have invested in.
- The scarab in Stormveil's lower passage awards the spell. The Ulcerated Tree Spirit farther below is a separate encounter, so you can turn back after killing the scarab without fighting it or defeating Godrick.
