About this set

Combines Skeletal Mask and Raptor's Black Feathers with Bandit Manchettes and Bandit Boots. The first two are in Sage's Cave, while the other two are Bandit starting gear or purchases from Gostoc.

The four pieces weigh 16.8 and provide 29 poise. You can mix them freely with other armor without losing a hidden matching-set bonus.

Raptor's Black Feathers raises eligible jumping-attack damage by 10% against enemies and 5% against other players. The bonus comes entirely from the chest piece.

Where to find

Hidden chests in Sage's Cave

Altus Plateau

Starting Site of Grace: Sage's Cave

  1. Reach Altus Plateau with both Dectus Medallion halves, from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or by defeating Magma Wyrm Makar at the top of Ruin-Strewn Precipice.
  2. From Abandoned Coffin, cross the shallow lake toward the northeastern cliff and enter Sage's Cave. Activate the grace and bring a Lantern for its dark passages.
  3. Strike the wall at the first dead end. Turn right, follow the stream past the skeleton and reveal the next false wall beside the moss.
  4. Pass the two chests and descend south into the shallow water. Look left for the false wall between two small fires. Clear the skeletons behind it to reach the room with four chests.
  5. Return to the passage and continue south to the chamber with crossbow skeletons on a wooden platform. Clear the enemies before following the passage on the far side.
  6. Continue to the next chest platform, which holds Raptor Talons and Dragonwound Grease. Take the northwest tunnel beyond it to the waterfall.
  7. Face left at the waterfall and jump the gap onto the opposite ledge. Follow the left branch and strike the dead-end wall beside the cave moss.
  8. Open the two hidden chests for Skeletal Mask and Raptor's Black Feathers. The gloves and boots are separate Bandit pieces.

Gatekeeper Gostoc, early shop or later throne room

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Stormveil Main Gate

Before you go

  • 2,000 runes for Bandit Manchettes and Bandit Boots.
  1. Defeat Margit and follow the entrance tunnel to Stormveil Main Gate grace. Gostoc is in the gatehouse room on the left of the closed main entrance.
  2. Speak to him about entering the castle. Asking for the main gate to be opened does not force you to use it; the cliffside route remains available.
  3. Return to Gostoc and open his shop once available. If you followed the side route and he is not selling yet, progress to the Rusty Key room in the outer wall and return before defeating Godrick.
  4. Buy Bandit Manchettes and Bandit Boots for 1,000 runes each. Gostoc does not sell the Skeletal Mask or feathered chest.
  5. If you have already defeated Godrick and Gostoc is not selling, keep him alive and progress Nepheli's quest. Give her The Stormhawk King, rather than Seluvis's Potion, and defeat Morgott in Leyndell.
  6. Return to Godrick's grace, finish Gostoc's dialogue and rest or reload the area. Once Nepheli has moved into the throne room beyond the arena, speak to Gostoc at the back to use his later shop.
  7. If Gostoc is already dead, give his bell bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold. His remaining early equipment can be bought there; previously bought limited stock does not refill.

Bandit starting equipment

  1. Choose Bandit to begin with Bandit Manchettes and Bandit Boots. The starting outfit does not include Skeletal Mask or Raptor's Black Feathers; collect those separately in Sage's Cave.

Notes

  • Combines Skeletal Mask and Raptor's Black Feathers with Bandit Manchettes and Bandit Boots. The first two are in Sage's Cave, while the other two are Bandit starting gear or purchases from Gostoc.
  • The four pieces weigh 16.8 and provide 29 poise. You can mix them freely with other armor without losing a hidden matching-set bonus.
  • Raptor's Black Feathers raises eligible jumping-attack damage by 10% against enemies and 5% against other players. The bonus comes entirely from the chest piece.
  • The chest does not increase jump height, stance damage or status buildup. Wearing the mask, gloves or boots is not required for its attack bonus.
  • It can work with Claw Talisman. A jumping skill is still a skill, rather than automatically qualifying as a normal jumping attack.
  • Neither Sage's Cave boss is required for the two armor chests. Bandit Garb cannot be tailored into the feathered chest, and choosing Bandit does not give you the cave pieces.
