In-game description
One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
Imbues the ferrule of the caster's staff with magic, then thrusts it into the ground to create a massive magical shockwave.
Hold to continue moving without striking the ground, and then push the end of the staff into enemies.
An enhanced version of the glintstone miners' Stonedigger sorcery.
Where to find
Upper shed in Sellia Crystal Tunnel
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Sellia Crystal Tunnel
- Enter Sellia Crystal Tunnel from the cliff north of the Swamp of Aeonia. If the Dragon-Burnt Ruins chest trapped you here, leave the wooden shack and go downhill to the entrance grace first; you do not have to defeat the boss to escape.
- From the grace, climb the ladder and enter the main mining cavern. Go up the rocky path on the right, watching for the pests firing from the wooden huts.
- Climb onto the hut roof and jump to the higher wooden platform to get past the broken building blocking the uphill path. Follow the tunnel beyond it and climb the ladder.
- The next passage and ladder lead back above the main mining cavern. Cross the plank bridge toward the upper wooden hut, watching for the pest on its roof and the miner beside it.
- Open the chest inside that hut for Rock Blaster. The nearby corpse and upgrade-stone pickups are separate; the Fallingstar Beast is farther along and does not have to be fought.
Notes
- Requires 21 Intelligence, one memory slot and a glintstone staff. Starting costs 22 FP, and holding the drill spends another 4 FP for each continued segment.
- Hold the cast to walk slowly with the magical drill active, then release to drive the staff down for the larger finishing shockwave. Releasing ends the continued drill instead of starting an unrelated second spell.
- Both the drill and the final shockwave deal Magic damage through Sorcery Scaling. The ground impact is not Physical Strike damage, and the staff's ordinary melee attack rating does not determine the sorcery's damage.
- Digger's Staff boosts Stonedigger sorceries by 20% while held. You can cast with another staff and keep that bonus; two active copies multiply to 44%.
- Graven talismans and Magic damage bonuses improve it. The held animation is channeling, so Godfrey Icon does not provide its charged-spell bonus.
- The finishing shockwave does much more stance damage than one drill contact. Keeping the drill running is useful when an enemy stays against it, but releasing can be the better choice when you need the larger hit immediately.
- The animation gives resistance to interruption, not protection from damage. Trading into a strong enemy at point-blank range can still kill you before the finishing attack.
- It is in the upper hut chest in Sellia Crystal Tunnel. If the Dragon-Burnt Ruins trap brought you here, going downhill to the grace is the escape route; climbing farther into the mine is optional.
