In-game description
One of the glintstone sorceries that manipulates gravitational forces.
Pulls a clump of rocks from the earth and sends them flying.
This sorcery can be cast while in motion.
A gravitational technique studied by the young Radahn. His master was an Alabaster Lord with skin of stone.
Where to find
Northern cellar in Street of Sages Ruins
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Aeonia Swamp Shore
- For an overland approach, take the road east from Summonwater Village into Caelid and continue toward the Swamp of Aeonia. Activate Aeonia Swamp Shore on its western side before heading into the water.
- Ride Torrent across the rot-covered ground to Street of Sages Ruins along the swamp's western edge. Staying mounted keeps your character out of the water; enemy attacks are still dangerous.
- Head to the northern part of Street of Sages Ruins and look for the stone staircase descending beneath the ruined walls. Rotting sorcerers stand around the cellar entrance.
- Go down the stairs and open the chest for Rock Sling. This is the underground chest, rather than the corpse in the southwestern tower window.
- Collect Meteorite Staff from that separate tower if you want its gravity-sorcery bonus. Neither pickup requires defeating a boss.
Notes
- Requires 18 Intelligence, one memory slot and 18 FP per cast. It pulls up three rocks and throws them toward the target.
- The rocks deal physical damage, while their power still uses the casting tool's Sorcery Scaling. Intelligence improves that scaling on an ordinary Intelligence staff; it does not turn the damage into Magic.
- Each rock deals 9.5 stance damage in PvE, for 28.5 if all three hit. Missing one loses both its damage and its part of that stance pressure.
- Leave space around the caster and between you and the target. The wide rocks can break against a wall, doorway or low ceiling before they reach the enemy.
- Meteorite Staff boosts it by 30%. You can cast with a stronger staff and keep Meteorite Staff active in the other hand to retain that school bonus.
- Magic Scorpion Charm and Terra Magica do not strengthen its physical damage. Sorcery bonuses and appropriate physical-damage bonuses are separate options.
- Arrow's Reach Talisman can extend the rocks' useful travel range, despite this being a sorcery rather than a bow attack.
- It cannot be charged for a stronger cast. The time spent lifting the rocks is its normal animation, rather than an optional charge for Godfrey Icon.
- You can cast it from Torrent, though casting slows him down. Make room for all three rocks instead of trying to fire the spread into a narrow obstacle.
