Before you go

Obtain the right half from Albus, disguised as a pot uphill from Village of the Albinaurics grace beneath Liurnia's western plateau. Obtain the left half from the tower rooftop beyond Commander Niall at Castle Sol.
Return to the Grand Lift of Rold, stand at the medallion prompt and switch actions to Hoist secret medallion. The ordinary Hoist medallion action leads to a different region.
In Hidden Path to the Haligtree, follow the main corridor and take the steps on the left up through the Militia and Land Octopus enemies. Stay on the normal walkway; dropping through the broken railing starts an optional lower dungeon.
Activate Hidden Path to the Haligtree grace near the exit and continue outside. The lower Stray Mimic Tear boss is unnecessary for the snowfield.
Travel north through the blizzard, following the road and its lights rather than riding toward the cliff edges. Activate Consecrated Snowfield and continue toward Inner Consecrated Snowfield as visibility improves.
Continue north to the frozen river, then follow it west toward its northwestern end. Ride northwest toward the ruined church at the edge of the snowfield, watching for the nearby Walking Mausoleum's magical bombardment.
Reach Apostate Derelict and activate its grace. Enter the ruined church and collect the shield from the corpse in front of the enormous seated woman. The nearby mausoleum and Latenna's quest are unnecessary for the pickup.

Requires 12 Strength, 10 Dexterity and 10 Intelligence, and weighs only 3.5. It blocks all Physical damage and 89% Magic damage from a successful guarded hit.
Its 49 base Guard Boost is modest, so heavy attacks can still drain your stamina quickly. Fire protection is 31%, Holy is 27% and Lightning is only 19%; its strong Magic protection does not extend to all elements.
The mirror does not reflect spells or create retaliating projectiles. No Skill is fixed, leaving the right-hand weapon skill available; you cannot install Parry or another Ash of War.
When attacking with the shield, Strength improves its Physical damage and Intelligence improves its Magic damage. Dexterity is a requirement without damage scaling.
Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Reinforcement improves its attack power and Guard Boost, while its listed damage-blocking percentages remain the same.
The corpse inside Apostate Derelict is a separate pickup from Latenna's quest reward. You do not need to bring Latenna or finish her quest to collect it.
