About this Ash of War
Holding the stance is free. Fire with the selected arrow slot to spend 3 FP and one arrow, sending it high before it descends onto the target.
A successful skill arrow deals 125% of ordinary arrow attack power and 130% of its normal status buildup. It remains one arrow hit rather than a multi-arrow volley.
The arc can reach over some low obstacles that block a direct shot. The travel delay also gives a moving enemy time to leave the impact point, so a clear target lock is not a guarantee.

In-game description
This Ash of War grants no affinity to an armament, but imparts the following skill:
"Sky Shot: Archery skill performed from a low stance. Ready the bow, then fire an arrow high up into the air, arcing so as to strike the enemy from above when it comes down."
Usable on light bows and longbows.
Where to find
Cliffs northwest of the Isolated Merchant's Shack
Greyoll's Dragonbarrow
Starting Site of Grace: Isolated Merchant's Shack
- Reach the Isolated Merchant's Shack in western Dragonbarrow, north of the main Caelid swamp.
- Travel northwest from the shack toward the cliff edge. You are looking for the high ground overlooking the distant colosseum and Great-Jar, rather than a route down to them.
- Kill the scarab along these cliffs to receive Sky Shot. Keep the fight away from the edge so chasing it does not send you over.
Notes
- Holding the stance is free. Fire with the selected arrow slot to spend 3 FP and one arrow, sending it high before it descends onto the target.
- A successful skill arrow deals 125% of ordinary arrow attack power and 130% of its normal status buildup. It remains one arrow hit rather than a multi-arrow volley.
- The arc can reach over some low obstacles that block a direct shot. The travel delay also gives a moving enemy time to leave the impact point, so a clear target lock is not a guarantee.
- Allow room for the upward path. A low ceiling or awkward terrain can interfere with it; a direct shot may be more reliable in a tight interior.
- Its damage types and ailment come from the bow and ammunition. The high arc does not automatically inflict magic damage or add Frostbite.
- The scarab is on the high Dragonbarrow cliffs northwest of Isolated Merchant's Shack. The Great-Jar and colosseum below are landmarks, not destinations you need to descend to for the Ash.
- Damage uses the equipped bow and selected ammunition, including the bow's reinforcement and actual attribute scaling. The skill does not supply free arrows or give every bow new Intelligence, Faith or Arcane scaling.
- Shard of Alexander improves the damaging skill shots, while holding the ready stance does not qualify for Godfrey Icon. An arrow-damage bonus increases damage rather than directly increasing ailment buildup.
- This Ash uses the Standard affinity. Its equipment type does not receive the usual melee affinity choices.
- Compatible weapon classes: Light Bow, Bow. A weapon with a fixed skill cannot use this Ash of War.
