In-game description

Mad Tongue Alberich's robe.

Alberich was an aloof yet disturbed heretical sorcerer said to have been driven mad by jeering tongues during his service to the Roundtable Hold long ago.

Where to find

Fortified Manor main hall, then tailoring at a grace

Leyndell, Royal Capital

Starting Site of Grace: Fortified Manor, First Floor

Before you go

  • Collect this before defeating Maliketh, while Leyndell is still the Royal Capital.
  • Obtain Alberich's Robe first.
  1. Collect the outfit before defeating Maliketh, while Leyndell is still the Royal Capital. The corpse is inside Fortified Manor, not at Roundtable Hold.
  2. From Avenue Balcony, go down the northwest stairs and continue toward the huge petrified dragon. Climb its wing to the upper walkway, then take the passage and stairs to West Capital Rampart grace.
  3. From West Capital Rampart, go southeast down the nearby stairs. Follow the lower corridor past the Oracle Envoys and pull the lever to open the large gate below.
  4. Look west toward Fortified Manor. Drop from the lower walkway to the courtyard and go through the manor's large ground-level doorway. The nearby stable roofs lead to its upper floor, which is a different entrance.
  5. Search the large entrance hall for the corpse on the red carpet. Loot it for Alberich's Pointed Hat, Robe, Bracers and Trousers together. Fortified Manor, First Floor grace is in a side room.
  6. The red invasion sign in this building is part of Bernahl's assignment. You do not need to join that invasion or defeat Mad Tongue Alberich at Roundtable Hold to collect the outfit.
  7. If you do not have Tailoring Tools, enter Coastal Cave on western Limgrave's beach and defeat the two Demi-Human Chiefs. Their reward unlocks ordinary garment alterations at a grace.
  8. Rest at a grace, choose Alter garments and pay 500 runes for this alteration. It changes the piece you own rather than producing a second copy. The reverse alteration restores the original form.

  • Restoring the regular robe restores its damage bonus. Altering does not permanently remove it or create an extra item.
  • The regular robe comes from the Fortified Manor corpse before Maliketh. Make this version through tailoring rather than searching for a second pickup.
