About this spirit
Costs 63 FP and summons one Ancestral Follower with a heavy bow and axe. Upgrade him with Grave Glovewort to +10, rather than Ghost Glovewort.
Nearby enemy deaths restore 20% of his maximum HP. This heals the spirit, not the player, and is especially useful in encounters with several enemies.
The recovery is triggered by deaths rather than continuous regeneration. A lone boss does not provide repeated healing opportunities throughout the fight.

In-game description
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.
Use to summon the spirit of an ancestral follower.
A spirit of the horned folk who eschew letters and metalworking. Brawny, and versed in distinctive spiritual arts, this particular tribesman wields a heavy bow.
Where to find
Ancestor Spirit at the lower Hallowhorn Grounds
Siofra River
Starting Site of Grace: Siofra River Bank
Before you go
- Light the eight lower Siofra flame pillars.
- In eastern Limgrave, follow the Mistwood road south toward the Minor Erdtree and find the round Siofra River Well building nearby. Ride its lift down and activate Siofra River Well Depths.
- Follow the river northeast past the ruins and Claymen to the next lift. Ride up, descend the slope into the open basin and activate Siofra River Bank beyond the crab.
- Light the first brazier east of Siofra River Bank. Find the second on the raised western ground, approached from the ledge north of the grace.
- For the next pair, search the small central island in the shallow water, then the eastern cliff. Lightning orbs and archers cover these areas; use the pillars for shelter.
- Continue north to the brazier just south of Worshippers' Woods, then activate the grace. For another flame, go southwest through the water with two crabs, then northwest onto the bank.
- Return to Worshippers' Woods and follow the northern path. The next brazier is on the eastern high ground, reached along the upper path beside the broken arch. Rats and ancestral warriors guard it.
- Find Below the Well at the far northern end. From there, go south through the woods, then southwest to the last brazier, guarded by rats and two ancestral warriors.
- Return to the southern Hallowhorn Grounds. Its entrance pillars show your progress. Once all eight burn, touch the horned remains at the back and defeat Ancestor Spirit for the ashes.
Notes
- Costs 63 FP and summons one Ancestral Follower with a heavy bow and axe. Upgrade him with Grave Glovewort to +10, rather than Ghost Glovewort.
- Nearby enemy deaths restore 20% of his maximum HP. This heals the spirit, not the player, and is especially useful in encounters with several enemies.
- The recovery is triggered by deaths rather than continuous regeneration. A lone boss does not provide repeated healing opportunities throughout the fight.
- His bow can contribute from a distance while you hold the enemy's attention. Summon him with a clear line of sight; walls and narrow rooms can waste that advantage.
- He switches to his axe at close range, so he does not reliably remain at the place where you summon him. He is one body rather than a squad that can split several enemies' attention.
- His damage and durability depend on his reinforcement and applicable spirit bonuses, rather than copying your bow, arrows or Dexterity.
- The eight-flame puzzle belongs to lower Siofra River. Upper Nokron's six flames lead to Regal Ancestor Spirit and a different reward; the two puzzles do not share progress.
