About this set
The hooded helm, caped chest, gauntlets and greaves weigh 41.6 together and provide 72 poise. Their weight is separate from your weapons, shield and talismans.
Using the cathedral knight's cape-free chest gives 40.6 weight and 71 poise with the hooded helm. Changing both helm and chest to their altered drops gives 40.2 weight and 71 poise.
No single cathedral farm supplies the fully unaltered outfit. Use the cathedral for the red-hooded helm and shared limbs, Castle Sol for the caped chest, and an exposed-helm knight in Stormveil for the altered helm.

Where to find
Cathedral of Dragon Communion
Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Cathedral of Dragon Communion
- Follow Caelid's southern highway west of Decaying Ekzykes and approach the ruined Cathedral of Dragon Communion on the coastal side of the road.
- Activate Cathedral of Dragon Communion grace inside the ruins. Go back outside and find the patrolling Banished Knight wearing the red scarf over his helm.
- Defeat the knight and collect his glowing loot. The red-hooded Banished Knight Helm, cape-free Banished Knight Armor (Altered), gauntlets and greaves are separate random drops.
- Rest at the cathedral grace and repeat. Buying dragon incantations, spending a Dragon Heart and defeating Ekzykes are unnecessary for the armor.
- The red scarf belongs to the helm. This knight does not supply the unaltered caped chest, even though parts of his clothing look like a cape.
Castle Sol ramparts
Mountaintops of the Giants
Starting Site of Grace: Church of the Eclipse
- Defeat Morgott in Leyndell and speak to Melina for the Rold Medallion. Follow the capital's eastern exit through the Forbidden Lands and use the Grand Lift of Rold to reach the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- Travel to Castle Sol on the northern side of the Mountaintops. Enter the main gate, keep clear of the two Lion Guardians and take the wooden stairs on the left.
- Follow the raised route past the bird and wolves into the next building. Climb its wooden stairs and leave through the upper doorway.
- Cross to the church and climb its stone stairs, watching for the spectral Banished Knight. Activate Church of the Eclipse grace in the side room.
- Leave through the church's main doorway and climb the ladder immediately on the right. Turn left along the wall, then left again at its end toward the knight accompanied by wolves.
- Clear the wolves before fighting the spectral knight wearing the full cape. This particular enemy can drop unaltered Banished Knight Armor; the knight directly in front of the church is not the same farm.
- Collect the glowing loot and rest at Church of the Eclipse to repeat. Commander Niall does not need to be defeated for this route, and tailoring the common chest cannot replace the farm.
Stormveil Castle Banished Knights
Limgrave
Starting Site of Grace: Rampart Tower
- After defeating Margit, follow Stormveil's side entrance and cliffside route to Rampart Tower grace.
- Leave toward the rampart with the barrel-carrying hawks. Follow it to the chapel roof, then descend into the chapel where Rogier can be found.
- Leave the chapel and target the heavily armored Banished Knight on the connecting walkway. Look for the exposed metal helm rather than a red hood.
- Defeat this knight and collect its glowing drops. Its headpiece is Banished Knight Helm (Altered), and its chest is the cape-free Banished Knight Armor (Altered).
- Return to Rampart Tower and rest to repeat. The two pieces roll separately, and both must be farmed directly rather than made through Alter garments.
Notes
- The hooded helm, caped chest, gauntlets and greaves weigh 41.6 together and provide 72 poise. Their weight is separate from your weapons, shield and talismans.
- Using the cathedral knight's cape-free chest gives 40.6 weight and 71 poise with the hooded helm. Changing both helm and chest to their altered drops gives 40.2 weight and 71 poise.
- No single cathedral farm supplies the fully unaltered outfit. Use the cathedral for the red-hooded helm and shared limbs, Castle Sol for the caped chest, and an exposed-helm knight in Stormveil for the altered helm.
- All helm and chest variants are direct enemy drops. Tailoring cannot add or remove the scarf or cape.
- Each eligible piece has a base 3% drop chance at 100 Discovery. Matching a knight's visible variant matters more than repeatedly killing a knight with the wrong loot table.
- No piece grants storm attacks, teleportation or an attribute bonus. There is no extra effect for wearing all four matching pieces.
