About this spirit
Costs 500 HP instead of FP. You need more than the HP payment available to summon it; a full FP bar does not replace that health requirement.
The Hexer uses ranged bloodflame attacks that can build Blood Loss. The status benefit depends on the enemy being susceptible and enough attacks connecting.
Blood Loss immunity removes that part of its pressure. Its direct hit damage remains separate from whether an ailment can trigger.
Technical details
Separate summoning cost and upgrade fields are not recorded for this spirit. The description and notes contain the reviewed information.
In-game description
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirit of a bloodfiend hexer. Summoning consumes HP rather than FP.
This spirit conducts bloodboon rituals with a sacred spear, casts bloodflame hexes, and takes a singular pleasure in letting the blood of foes.
Long ago, a subjugated tribe discovered a twisted deity amongst the ravages of war, and they were transformed into bloodfiends. The mother of truth was their savior.
Where to find
Chief Bloodfiend in Rivermouth Cave
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Rivermouth Cave
- From Castle Front, ride south to the crossroads, turn east and follow the road to the next fork. Take the right-hand dirt track, then the left fork downhill toward the southeast.
- Pass the bloodfiends and descend into the shallow poison area. Follow the lower path down toward the river rather than climbing toward the fort; watch for militia and poison traps along the descent.
- At the bottom is a shallow pool with a giant crab. Turn southwest into the opening in the cliff, continue through the cave past the Revered Spirit Ash chamber and activate Ellac River Cave grace.
- Leave onto the river and head north upstream. Look for Rivermouth Cave in the western cliff near the northern end, separate from the cave behind the waterfall.
- Inside, clear the wolves and take the left passage at the first fork. The right branch is a short loot detour.
- Continue through the wolf chambers, using the left approach around the stone arch to avoid being surrounded.
- Climb the rubble beyond the stone arch and drop toward the item below. The floor gives way under you, dropping you into a tunnel with a stream of blood.
- Follow the blood tunnel to the ledge above the large Bloodfiend gathering. Descend the dirt slope and take the boss passage to the right of their altar. You can draw the enemies out a few at a time instead of fighting the entire crowd.
- Defeat Chief Bloodfiend to receive the ashes. This is the cave's boss reward, not the nearby Two-Headed Turtle pickup.
Notes
- Costs 500 HP instead of FP. You need more than the HP payment available to summon it; a full FP bar does not replace that health requirement.
- The Hexer uses ranged bloodflame attacks that can build Blood Loss. The status benefit depends on the enemy being susceptible and enough attacks connecting.
- Blood Loss immunity removes that part of its pressure. Its direct hit damage remains separate from whether an ailment can trigger.
- The health payment leaves you injured as the spirit appears. Summon with enough room to heal rather than paying the cost while an enemy's attack is already reaching you.
- Upgrade it with Grave Glovewort. Paying HP does not make it use the same copied-loadout mechanics as Mimic Tear.
- Chief Bloodfiend in Rivermouth Cave awards it. The cave behind the upper waterfall contains Two-Headed Turtle Talisman instead and is not this boss route.
- Summons one Hexer carrying a sacred spear. Its bloodflame rituals provide a ranged option, while its spear lets it attack when an enemy closes in.
- Your own Arcane does not become the Hexer's Arcane. Improve the ash through spirit tuning rather than expecting your character's bleed build to raise all of its status buildup.
- Upgrades through Roderika to +10 with Grave Glovewort, finishing with a Great Grave Glovewort. Reinforcement does not increase the summoning payment.
- Requires Spirit Calling Bell and an area where the rebirth-monument icon allows summoning. The ash remains reusable, but you cannot repeatedly replace fallen spirits during the same encounter.
