Notes

• Requires 10 Strength, 10 Dexterity and 18 Intelligence and weighs 4.0. Ordinary attacks deal physical and magic damage. Strength is the stronger physical scaling attribute, Dexterity contributes less, and Intelligence improves the magic portion.
• Its heavy attack raises the sword into a brief guard before the swing, a moveset shared with Lazuli Glintstone Sword. This can catch a hit while you prepare the attack, but it uses the sword's damage negation and stamina protection. You can still take chip damage or have your guard broken.
• Carian Grandeur costs 26 FP and brings down a large magic blade. Hold the skill to charge it through stronger stages. A longer charge needs a safer opening, and the final charged stage benefits from Godfrey Icon. Shard of Alexander also improves the skill.
• The skill's magic attack scales with weapon upgrade level and Intelligence. Raising Strength for ordinary sword damage does not provide the same improvement to that magic blade. A high ordinary attack rating alone does not tell you how hard Carian Grandeur will hit.
• This sword cannot cast memorized sorceries. The description refers to its sorcerous battle skill; you still need a staff to cast your spell list.
• Upgrade with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Carian Grandeur is fixed, so you cannot replace it with another Ash of War, change the affinity, or apply grease or a weapon enchantment.
• Loot the chest on the rear of the western Liurnia troll carriage. Killing the trolls and escort does not award the sword automatically, and this caravan is separate from the one carrying Greataxe in Limgrave.
