In-game description
One of the weapons originating from the Two Fingers. A formless sequence of ciphers comprise its blade, and as such no shield can repel it. Deals holy damage.
The furtive inscription appears to hang in the air; the language of light spoken by the Two Fingers.
Skill
Imbue the cipher blade with light, then lunge forward with a sudden piercing attack. This attack cannot be blocked.
Where to find
Starting Site of Grace: Table of Lost Grace
Before you go
- Unlock Roundtable Hold.
- After Melina brings you to Roundtable Hold, leave the central table room by the doorway leading to the balcony above the large hall. Jump over the railing into the hall below.
- Mad Tongue Alberich invades here. Defeating him clears the hall and makes the return point available; do not jump down assuming you can climb straight back to the balcony.
- Go through the doorway on the left side of the hall, follow the passage and take the opening on the right into the bedroom. Loot the corpse on the bed for Cipher Pata.
- The weapon can be picked up before winning the fight, but you still need a way out of the lower hall. Once Alberich is defeated, use the return point to get back upstairs.
Notes
- Deals only Holy damage and scales only with Faith. It requires 30 Faith, with no Strength or Dexterity requirement.
- Weighs zero, making it a backup weapon that adds nothing to equip load. Two-handing it produces a blade in each hand from one copy.
- Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Unblockable Blade is fixed, and it cannot use a different Ash of War or affinity. Grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- Unblockable Blade costs 17 FP. After a short wind-up, you lunge forward with a longer Holy thrust that bypasses the enemy's guard. This is the fist version, separate from Coded Sword's sweeping skill.
- Its ordinary attacks resist bouncing off shields, but that is different from the skill completely bypassing guard. Holy resistance still reduces the damage, including damage from the unblockable thrust.
- The skill benefits from Shard of Alexander and Holy damage bonuses. It cannot be charged, so Godfrey Icon does not add a charged-skill bonus.
- It has a critical rating of 100 and no innate status buildup. The pure Holy damage does not become Physical Pierce damage because the blade performs a thrust.
- Enemies with high Holy resistance can sharply reduce its damage. Extra Faith strengthens the same Holy damage rather than giving it another damage type.
