About this spirit
Costs 118 FP and summons a durable melee puppet with Sword of Milos, Blood Loss attacks and a roar that weakens nearby enemies.
The roar's enemy debuff can help your attacks as well as his own when the target is affected. It is not a permanent bonus applied merely by placing the ashes in an item slot.
Blood Loss requires a susceptible target and enough buildup. His melee pressure and debuff remain separate reasons to use him when bleeding is unavailable.

In-game description
One of Seluvis's puppets.
Use to summon the spirit of the Dung Eater.
Spirit of a man who murdered thousands and defiled their corpses with the Seedbed Curse.
Wields a spine greatsword and hurls curses.
The Dung Eater despaired at how he met his end.
How hideous and sinister this puppet is, and yet, its utter despair invites one to care for it.
Where to find
Seluvis's puppet shop after the sewer quest
Altus Plateau
Starting Site of Grace: Underground Roadside
Before you go
- Keep Seluvis alive until you have bought the puppet.
- Obtain a Seedbed Curse and the Sewer-Gaol Key.
- Reach the western Liurnia road and follow it north through Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike the illusory wall blocking the road at the northern end, then continue past Iji at Road to the Manor.
- Ride toward the large manor while avoiding the magical strikes falling along the approach. Activate Main Caria Manor Gate grace at the entrance.
- Inside, follow the courtyard path northwest toward the building in the far corner. Fingercreepers hide among the plants and beneath the ground; do not stop on a buried hand.
- Enter the building with the seated spirit and climb its stairs to Manor Lower Level grace.
- Take the elevated walkways east and continue straight along the main route at the first junction. Spectral soldiers appear along the bridges. Reach the far building and take its lift up to Manor Upper Level.
- Leave the upper grace, pass the wolves in the garden and climb the main stone stairway toward the Troll Knight and sorcerers.
- Continue up the stairs beyond the troll and Pages to the large circular courtyard. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta, then activate Royal Moongazing Grounds grace.
- Leave Loretta's arena through the northern exit into Three Sisters. Visit Ranni's Rise to the west, agree to serve her, speak to the projections downstairs and speak to Ranni again before leaving.
- Visit Seluvis's Rise south of Ranni's tower and accept the potion task. Keep Ranni's Fingerslayer Blade handover for after any puppet purchases you still need.
- Keep the potion rather than giving it to Gideon or Nepheli. Seluvis must still be alive to arrange the task; leave the Fingerslayer Blade handover until after the puppet listing is available.
- Enter Leyndell, Royal Capital after obtaining two Great Runes and defeating the Draconic Tree Sentinel outside its northeastern entrance. Cross the bridge, follow the building's stairs and activate East Capital Rampart.
- From East Capital Rampart, follow the outer walkway past the Oracle Envoys. Continue through the building at the end and take the lift down to the next part of the capital.
- Enter the large building ahead of the lift. Climb the ladder on the right, then the stairs to the upper room. Search the body tied to a chair for a Seedbed Curse. Collect this capital pickup before defeating Maliketh.
- Return to Roundtable Hold and enter the room beyond the Twin Maiden Husks. Speak to the red Dung Eater while carrying the Seedbed Curse and finish his dialogue to receive the Sewer-Gaol Key.
- In Leyndell, Royal Capital, start at Avenue Balcony. Descend the northwestern stairs and go through the door. Follow the railing west, then drop left onto the lower rooftops.
- Drop off the right side of the roof, turn back north and find the well behind the broken wall. Climb its ladder, open the gate in the lower passage and take the next ladder down.
- Follow the damp corridor northeast into the rat-filled sewer entrance. Go through the southeastern doorway and descend the ladder into the large Omen hallway.
- Head northeast along the hallway and enter the first room on the left, opposite the summoning statue. Activate Underground Roadside grace.
- Leave Underground Roadside and turn left into the main Omen hallway. Pass the Omen to the open floor grate and drop into the rat tunnel.
- Turn left and follow the tunnel past the rats. Continue into the passage with the large poison flowers, rather than turning into the side pipe used for the deeper sewer route. Climb the ladder at the far end.
- Watch for the Fingercreepers in the upper chamber. The Dung Eater's locked cell is on the right; open it with the Sewer-Gaol Key.
- Tell the real Dung Eater to leave his gaol. Return to his Roundtable Hold room and read the message directing you to the outer moat.
- From Outer Wall Battleground outside Leyndell, follow the eastern road and descend into the water-filled moat below the capital ramparts. If Boggart has moved here, finish the business you want with him before advancing the invasion.
- Approach the moat to trigger Dung Eater's invasion and defeat him for Sword of Milos. Return to his red appearance at Roundtable Hold and finish the dialogue asking you to defile his body.
- Return to the sewer cell. Give his bound body the potion through dialogue instead of completing the five-curse ending. Wait until administering it and his reaction have finished.
- For Omen armor as well, kill him now before reloading, after the potion has taken effect. Keep him alive until this point; killing him earlier prevents the puppet.
- In the ruins northeast of Ranni's Rise, strike or roll over the illusory floor to reveal stairs. Descend, read the message beside the puppets and examine the workshop.
- Return to Seluvis and ask about his chambers. Take the offered initial puppet. To buy another, leave and return with enough Starlight Shards, then ask for a new puppet; if that dialogue has not appeared, collect another shard and reload the area.
- Starlight Shards are the payment, so keep them instead of consuming them for FP. Arrange the required listing before giving Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade.
- Buy Dung Eater Puppet for five Starlight Shards. His red invasion alone does not award the summon.
Notes
- Costs 118 FP and summons a durable melee puppet with Sword of Milos, Blood Loss attacks and a roar that weakens nearby enemies.
- The roar's enemy debuff can help your attacks as well as his own when the target is affected. It is not a permanent bonus applied merely by placing the ashes in an item slot.
- Blood Loss requires a susceptible target and enough buildup. His melee pressure and debuff remain separate reasons to use him when bleeding is unavailable.
- Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort. He is separate from both the sewer prisoner and the scripted red invader; winning the invasion alone does not award the puppet.
- Give the potion to his bound body after the moat invasion and required conversations, then buy the puppet from Seluvis for five Starlight Shards. Keep Seluvis alive until the purchase is complete.
- The potion ends the Seedbed Curse branch and prevents its normal Mending Rune reward. Spending that same potion on Nepheli or giving it away prevents using it for this puppet.
- If Blackguard Boggart has moved to the moat, this invasion sequence can kill him. Finish the business you want with him before advancing the Dung Eater there.
- His curse projectiles deal Holy damage, while Sword of Milos supplies Physical hits and Blood Loss. A target resistant to Holy may still be vulnerable to his sword or bleed.
- Shriek of Milos is an enemy debuff rather than a second Golden Vow aura. Other effects that replace the same enemy debuff should not be counted as fully stacking with it.
- You can also obtain Omen armor on the potion branch: wait until administering the potion has finished and his reaction ends, then kill his helpless body before reloading. Killing him before the potion is administered prevents the puppet.
- An unlocked puppet shop can remain available at Seluvis's body after his death. Complete the potion handover and unlock the listing beforehand instead of relying on finishing those conversations after he dies.
