Mt. Gelmir
Starting Site of Grace: Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite
Before you go
- Reach the upper slopes of Mt. Gelmir.
- Reach Altus Plateau using both Dectus Medallion halves at the Grand Lift of Dectus, or climb the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and defeat Magma Wyrm Makar.
- Travel around northern Altus and cross the rope bridge near Writheblood Ruins to Bridge of Iniquity. Follow the lower road with the cliff on your left.
- Near the Abductor Virgins, find the long ladder between two torches on that left cliff. Climb it and activate First Mt. Gelmir Campsite on the upper ledge.
- Continue northwest past the siege tower and cross the narrow natural rock bridge. A Grafted Scion drops into the next camp; defeat it or move past it to climb the ladder against the cliff.
- At the next landing, take the ladder on the left. The merchant is on the ledge along this climb. Stop at his campfire before continuing higher toward Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite.
- Finish the ladder climb and cross to Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite. Use the nearby spiritspring with Torrent or climb the tall ladder to the crater above.
- Defeat the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast in the crater for Fallingstar Beast Jaw. Riding around the crater to Volcano Manor does not award it; the boss must be defeated.
Notes
- Requires 34 Strength, 12 Dexterity and 20 Intelligence, and weighs 21.5. Two-handing meets the Strength requirement at 23 Strength.
- Strength and Dexterity have equal coefficients for Physical damage. Intelligence improves its smaller Magic portion, so raising Intelligence alone does much less for the ordinary weapon damage than its requirement might suggest.
- Its ordinary attacks deal Physical Pierce damage alongside Magic damage. Piercing counterattack bonuses concern that Physical portion, rather than multiplying its Magic damage too.
- Gravity Bolt costs 13 FP for every bolt, including the faster repeated casts. Despite its lightning-like appearance, it deals Physical and Magic damage, not Lightning.
- The bolt's Physical damage improves through Strength and Dexterity, and its Magic portion through Intelligence and upgrades. It is not a purely Intelligence-based gravity spell and does not use staff Sorcery Scaling.
- Each bolt deals 7 stance damage. Older demonstrations of the much stronger pre-change stance break do not reflect its current behavior.
- Shard of Alexander improves the skill. Physical bonuses improve its Physical portion and Magic bonuses improve its Magic portion; Lightning Scorpion Charm does not improve the purple bolt.
- It cannot be charged for Godfrey Icon, and the bolt does not copy weapon status buildup. Repeated casting still needs enough stamina and FP to avoid the next attack.
- Deals 20% extra damage against eligible gravity enemies. Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10, has a fixed skill and affinity, and cannot use grease or weapon enchantments.
- Only the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast at the Mt. Gelmir summit gives the jaw. The beasts in Sellia Crystal Tunnel and the capital crater have other rewards.
