Where to find
Mt. Gelmir
Starting Site of Grace: Seethewater Terminus
Before you go
- Reach Altus Plateau and follow the Seethewater valley.
- From Erdtree-Gazing Hill on Altus Plateau, ride north through Wyndham Ruins and enter the valley beside Mt. Gelmir at Seethewater River. Follow the valley north, then around the mountain toward Seethewater Terminus.
- At Seethewater Terminus, head west to Fort Laiedd. Enter through its main doorway and clear enough of the courtyard to fight the large Fire Prelate carrying the red hammer without the soldiers surrounding you.
- Defeat the hammer-carrying Fire Prelate for one guaranteed Prelate's Inferno Crozier. This weapon reward is available once per journey; repeat kills are useful for its random armor drops instead.
Notes
- Requires 45 Strength and eight Dexterity, and weighs 23.5. With Standard affinity, Strength gives much stronger physical scaling than Dexterity. Two-handing lets 30 Strength meet its Strength requirement, but the Dexterity requirement stays the same.
- Its heavy attacks swing the enormous head upward and can launch susceptible smaller enemies. This is part of the normal moveset, rather than an ability that requires FP; large bosses are not guaranteed to leave the ground.
- Ordinary Standard-affinity hits deal physical strike damage. The fiery appearance does not add native Fire damage or Blood Loss to those attacks.
- Starts with Prelate's Charge. The skill slams down, pushes forward while dragging the hammer through fire and ends with an upward blow. Holding the input extends the charge and spends more FP after the initial seven-FP payment.
- Repeated contacts during the charge work well with Bloodflame Blade on an affinity that allows weapon enchantments. This uses the buff's delayed bleeding; it does not mean every small charge contact applies a full ordinary hit's innate buildup.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War and different affinities. Heavy favors Strength. Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied on Standard, Heavy, Keen or Quality; elemental affinities such as Fire and Flame Art prevent that ordinary buff setup.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones to +25. Its critical rating is the normal 100. The distinctive launch, reach and charge are more unusual than its critical modifier.
- The Fort Laiedd Prelate gives one guaranteed copy per journey. Its armor pieces are random drops, and the whip-carrying Mountaintops Prelate gives a different weapon.
