Great Club
An enormous club of hard wood. Wildly hammering foes with this striking weapon requires no dexterity; only brute force. While it may seem sacrilegious, this weapon is said to be a withered branch of the Erdtree. Imbued with holy power, this weapon will never snap.

In-game description
An enormous club of hard wood. Wildly hammering foes with this striking weapon requires no dexterity; only brute force. While it may seem sacrilegious, this weapon is said to be a withered branch of the Erdtree. Imbued with holy power, this weapon will never snap.
Skill
Thrust armament into the ground, then gather strength to unleash a blast of sacred energy that coalesces into golden darts. Follow up with a strong attack to swing the armament in a sweeping strike.Ash of War: Golden Land
Where to find
Altus Plateau
Starting Site of Grace: Old Altus Tunnel
Before you go
- Reach Altus Plateau and bring two Stonesword Keys.
- Find Old Altus Tunnel in the western Altus valley, south of The Shaded Castle. Use two Stonesword Keys at the entrance and take the lift down to its grace.
- Follow the tunnel past the first wooden shack into the large mine chamber. Take the ladder beside the shack, then use the wooden platforms and the lower shack's roof to descend into the pit.
- Clear the dogs and soldiers on the lower floor. Take the western tunnel out of the main pit to the boss door. The other tunnel is an item room.
- Defeat the Stonedigger Troll to receive Great Club. Old Altus Tunnel is separate from Altus Tunnel, whose bosses are Crystalians.
Notes
- Requires 35 Strength and no Dexterity or Faith and weighs 17.0. It deals strike physical damage plus holy damage. Strength improves the physical portion, while Faith improves the holy portion even though Faith is not required to equip it.
- Grease and weapon enchantments can be applied despite the innate holy damage. This is a buffing exception, rather than a reason to choose another affinity: the club's normal affinity is fixed.
- Golden Land costs 16 FP for the ground strike and holy eruption, which also produces pursuing projectiles. Press strong attack afterward for the sweeping weapon follow-up, costing another 5 FP.
- The holy eruption and projectiles improve with Faith and weapon reinforcement, while actual weapon contacts use the club's attack power. Strength remains useful for ordinary hits, but is not a substitute for Faith when improving those separate holy attacks.
- Its slow swings and skill need a clear opening. The delayed projectiles can reach an enemy after the initial eruption, but do not assume all of them will connect or that holy damage is equally effective against every boss.
- Upgrade with Smithing Stones to +25. Golden Land cannot be replaced with another Ash of War. Ordinary upgrade materials and the ability to apply a coating do not make the skill removable.
- The Stonedigger Troll in Old Altus Tunnel awards the club. This is separate from Troll's Hammer on a corpse in the same mine. The similarly named Altus Tunnel has different bosses and rewards.
