About this spirit

Costs 123 FP and summons Queelign with his thrusting greatsword, Fire Serpent and Flame Skewer. Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort to +10.

He makes his distinctive gesture when summoned, so leave room for his entrance before expecting an attack. The description's immediate aggression does not remove that animation.

As a red-eyed spirit, he stays around his summoning area and pursues enemies that enter it rather than reliably following you across the dungeon. Summon him near the fight you intend him to join.

Technical details

Separate summoning cost and upgrade fields are not recorded for this spirit. The description and notes contain the reviewed information.

In-game description

Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirit of Fire Knight Queelign. Attacks immediately after being summoned.

Spirit of a knight granted relief by the Iris of Grace. Wields a spear-like greatsword that impales foes upon fire, keeping the taint of impurity away from fair mother Marika.

That grace was his salvation, though it was but a fleeting blessing. And having been saved, all that was left to him was to wage war.

Where to find

Church District Prayer Room

Shadow Keep

Starting Site of Grace: Church District Entrance

Before you go

  • Defeat both invasions and keep an Iris of Grace.
  1. To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
  2. From Three-Path Cross, follow the western route through the rocky passage to Main Gate Cross outside Belurat.
  3. Climb the entrance stairs and open the large doors. Pass the giant scorpions and the room of smaller scorpions, then continue upstairs to Belurat, Tower Settlement grace.
  4. The large doors ahead are shut. Take the path right into the small square with the waterfall, then turn left toward the elevated bridge where shadow casters fire down at you.
  5. Pass beneath the elevated bridge and enter the open doorway on the left. Clear the shadow enemies and climb the building's stairs to Small Private Altar grace.
  6. Leave through the northern doorway and climb the stairs on the right. The Horned Warrior with two curved swords patrols just above the grace.
  7. At the top of the stairs above Small Private Altar, avoid the patrolling Horned Warrior and turn right down toward the round courtyard with the large tree. Enter the courtyard to trigger Fire Knight Queelign's invasion.
  8. Defeat Queelign. Your first victory over him awards Crusade Insignia. The small enemies in the courtyard can interfere, so clear space before committing to a long attack.
  9. His other invasion is at Church of the Crusade. From Highroad Cross on Scadu Altus, ride northwest to the church and enter its grounds. Either location can supply the talisman if it is your first victory over him.
  10. After defeating both invasions, keep Prayer Room Key. The second victory also awards Flame Skewer; neither reward depends on which invasion you completed first.
  11. From Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, follow the road east to Moorth Ruins and activate the grace beside the cross.
  12. Pass through the large stone arch east-southeast of the grace. At the house ahead, turn left toward the leaning tower. Avoid the large open shaft behind the house, which is too deep for a direct drop.
  13. Find the smaller gap between the broken building and the rock wall in front of the leaning tower. Drop onto the balcony-like ledge, turn right past the dogs and follow the cave inward.
  14. In the open chamber at the end, take the back-left ledges down onto the lower roof. Look for the small shrine guarded by three Inquisitors and collect Golden Arcs from the chest inside.
  15. To continue east, drop from the lower roof to the ground and take the cave beside the building on the left. Follow it to the long ladder and climb out of the well at Bonny Village grace.
  16. Go east through Bonny Village, watching for the large cleaver-wielding villagers, and cross the two suspension bridges. The second brings you to Bridge Leading to the Village grace.
  17. Follow the road north through the woods to Church District Highroad grace. Take the northwestern road through the entrance tunnel and activate Church District Entrance inside Shadow Keep. This eastern entrance leads to the flooded district, rather than the main-gate Hippopotamus arena.
  18. Jump from the entrance ledge onto the first roof below. Follow its northwestern edge and jump from the raised roof section to the stone wall opposite, rather than taking the southwestern log platforms toward different loot.
  19. Follow the wall around and climb its northeastern rise. Jump to the next roof northwest, where a Fire Knight patrols. Clear it or make enough room to continue safely.
  20. Cross toward the next large church and jump onto the sloping stone support on your left. Walk southwest up that support to the high roof, then use the broken roof opening to drop onto the central beam below.
  21. Follow the beam to the adjoining upper corridor and drop through the opening in its floor onto the raised church passage. Stay above the water and continue northwest; the Prayer Room door is a separate side destination.
  22. On the raised church floor after dropping from the beams, find the brown Prayer Room door in the northeastern corner. Open it with Prayer Room Key and speak to Queelign inside.
  23. If you do not already have an Iris of Grace, use the nearby district route below to obtain one. The alternative Iris of Occultation gives a weapon instead of these ashes.
  24. Pass the small side room holding a Rune of an Unsung Hero and continue into the corridor patrolled by two Fire Knights. The first left exit leads toward the drainage wheel, while the later left exit leads to the Storehouse lift.
  25. Take the first left exit and cross the small bridge outside. Clear the bats, go up the steps and jump the narrow gap in the walkway before the tall lamp.
  26. Climb the ladder to the large wheel and operate it from the side to drain the district. This permanently opens the lower ground for the current journey.
  27. Climb back down and use the nearby doorway and lower platforms to descend to the exposed ground. Enter the small chapel nearby and activate Sunken Chapel grace.
  28. From Sunken Chapel, enter the large church with Marika's headless statue. Deal with Wego and the burning corpses, then use the passage on the right near the rear of the church.
  29. Follow the corridor past the bookcase to its lift and ride down. Activate Tree-Worship Passage, follow the decline and cross the bridge to the small church. Collect the Iris of Grace below Marika's statue. Tree-Worship Sanctum is farther down the stairs, and the Scadutree Avatar fight is unnecessary.
  30. Return to Queelign in the Prayer Room and choose the dialogue to give him the Iris of Grace. This awards his spirit ashes; using the iris from the inventory is not the same interaction.

Notes

  • Costs 123 FP and summons Queelign with his thrusting greatsword, Fire Serpent and Flame Skewer. Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort to +10.
  • He makes his distinctive gesture when summoned, so leave room for his entrance before expecting an attack. The description's immediate aggression does not remove that animation.
  • As a red-eyed spirit, he stays around his summoning area and pursues enemies that enter it rather than reliably following you across the dungeon. Summon him near the fight you intend him to join.
  • His greatsword supplies Physical and Fire damage, while Fire Serpent supplies Fire damage. Fire-resistant targets reduce the value of those flames, even when his Physical thrusts still work.
  • Give him an Iris of Grace through his Prayer Room dialogue for the ashes. Consuming an iris from the inventory does not make that reward choice.
  • An Iris of Occultation gives Queelign's Greatsword instead. The two rewards cannot both be selected from his quest in one Journey.
  • Two Irises of Grace are available, so choosing his spirit does not prevent also receiving Jolán's spirit. The transferable Flame Skewer Ash and Prayer Room Key come from his second invasion, before this final choice.
  • The two invasion sites can be completed in either order. You do not need to defeat Messmer, drain the district or finish Belurat's boss just to open the Prayer Room.
