One of the legendary armaments.

A lone surviving champion from a country now vanished was so determined to continue fighting that he claimed the swords of an entire clan of warriors.

Weeping Peninsula

Starting Site of Grace: Beside the Rampart Gaol

Before you go

  • Reach the rear of Castle Morne.
  1. From Agheel Lake South, follow the southern road over Bridge of Sacrifice into the Weeping Peninsula. Watch for the ballista at the far end of the bridge.
  2. Continue south along the main road past Castle Morne Rampart grace toward the castle on the coast. Avoid the giant archer's shots on the exposed final approach.
  3. Enter Castle Morne, activate Castle Morne Lift grace and ride the lift into the courtyard.
  4. At Castle Morne, take the entrance lift and cross the courtyard to the ladder leading onto the ramparts. Follow the upper walls around to the southern break and drop to Behind the Castle grace.
  5. Continue down the exterior ledges behind the castle. Use the roof and wooden beams to descend through the tower without falling straight to the floor.
  6. Leave the lower room, activate Beside the Rampart Gaol nearby, and cross the wooden bridge toward the beach. Drop to the shoreline and enter the boss door.
  7. Defeat Leonine Misbegotten to receive Grafted Blade Greatsword. Irina's quest is not required to collect the weapon.

Notes

  • Physical damage scales most strongly with Strength, with weaker Dexterity scaling.
  • Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +10.
  • Its Oath of Vengeance skill is fixed and cannot be replaced with an Ash of War.
  • Grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied. Its affinity is fixed as well as its skill.
  • Requires 40 Strength and 14 Dexterity and weighs 21. Two-handing meets the Strength requirement at 27; Strength is the main damage attribute, with Dexterity a smaller contribution.
  • Oath of Vengeance costs 20 FP and raises all eight attributes by 5 for 60 seconds. Those temporary points can help with equipment and spell requirements as well as damage.
  • For the first 5 seconds it also greatly resists interruption and reduces incoming damage by 45% in PvE or 20% in PvP. That short protection expires well before the attribute boost.
  • Meet the sword's requirements before activating its skill. You cannot rely on the skill's own +5 Strength to cast it while you are already unable to wield the sword properly.
  • The temporary Endurance can change your equip-load allowance. Leave room for the boost to expire instead of building an outfit that only medium-rolls while it is active.
  • It is one of the legendary armaments. Its appearance does not give it innate bleed, and the skill is a buff rather than a damaging hit for Shard of Alexander.
  • Irina's letter and Edgar's dialogue are separate quest steps. Leonine Misbegotten still awards the sword if you reach and defeat him without completing their story.
