About this set
With regular Gravebird Armor, the four equipped pieces weigh 13.3 and provide 27 poise. With Blackquill Armor instead, that becomes 14.7 weight and 30 poise. The two chests are alternatives.
Gravebird Helm increases Rings of Spectral Light damage by 15%. That does not improve every death sorcery, an unrelated weapon or your Spirit Ashes.
Blackquill Armor increases eligible jumping weapon-attack damage by 10% in PvE or 5% in PvP. Regular Gravebird Armor, the bracelets and the anklets have no attack bonus.
Where to find
Altar halfway down the shortcut lift
Enir-Ilim
Starting Site of Grace: Spiral Rise
- Enter the Realm of Shadow after defeating Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, by touching the withered arm in Mohg's arena. Defeat Messmer in Shadow Keep for his kindling and Romina at Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
- Finish the companion quest steps you want before burning the Sealing Tree behind Romina with Messmer's Kindling. This advances their quests and carries you to Enir-Ilim: Outer Wall.
- From Outer Wall, climb northeast to the large balcony, then southwest up the next stairs. Turn southeast toward the Divine Bird Warrior and enter the building beyond it. Climb the broken ledges and cross the balcony to First Rise grace.
- From First Rise, take the stairs upward through the building and use the southwest doorway toward the courtyard route. Continue through to the courtyard with the large patrolling inquisitor and the smaller enemies praying below.
- Take the upward stairs on the courtyard's southeastern side, rather than the lower tree detour. Use the stone railings for cover from the inquisitors' rapid spells, then continue up beside the large tree to the Divine Beast Warrior.
- Get past the warrior and climb northwest. Keep moving when the upper inquisitors cast attacks beneath your feet. Open the large double doors at the top of the stairs and activate Spiral Rise grace.
- Climb the spiral stairs and leave through the window before the broken floor. Follow the roof southwest around the building, then jump west to the wider roof. Draw out the Gravebirds one at a time instead of fighting all three at the corner.
- Continue northwest from the roofs onto the platform with another bird and stairs. A small room to the south contains a separate Revered Spirit Ash. Take the stairs north, but stop halfway up and look over the right railing for the lower staircase.
- Drop onto that lower stairway and enter the side building for Horned Warrior Ashes. Through its southern doorway, climb the ladder to the balcony, then the next ladder to return to the upper route beside the frost-wielding Divine Beast Warrior.
- Get past the warrior. From the small structure northwest of it, go east to the corpse with Sunwarmth Stones and climb the roof beside it. Enter the tower through its southeastern windows.
- Climb the stairs inside the tower and clear the inquisitors around the lift. This is the lift above the large altar, before the final wind-wielding warrior and Cleansing Chamber Anteroom.
- Ride the lift downward and watch its southern side for the large altar. Step onto the altar when the platform is level with its top and loot Gravebird Helm.
- Drop using the altar's lower sections to reach the floor. If you miss the item, ride the lift back up for another attempt. Neither the wind warrior nor the final boss is required for the helmet.
Gravebird altar north of Temple Town Ruins
Rauh Base
Starting Site of Grace: Temple Town Ruins
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Moorth Ruins grace in Scadu Altus, ride northeast to the small triangular pool. Look for the cave beside a statue of Marika and a Scadutree Fragment.
- Enter the cave and follow it past the perfumers to the glowing golden tree. Take the path to its right down into the swamp.
- Turn left through the route beneath the rock and continue until you emerge into Rauh Base. Activate Ancient Ruins Base grace ahead.
- Follow the valley southwest toward Temple Town Ruins. A bow golem and an axe golem guard the approach; fighting them is optional if you can pass their attacks.
- Collect the map beneath the stele near the ruined town. This is the lower valley, not the upper ruins reached through Shadow Keep.
- From Temple Town Ruins, follow the lower river north and northwest. Watch for Pests along the banks and Gravebirds that wake as you approach.
- Look on the river's left bank for the rising path lined with Gravebird statues. Go up to the large stone sarcophagus at its end and clear the living birds guarding it.
- Loot the corpse at the base of the sarcophagus for Blackquill Armor. This is the separate winged chest, not a tailoring change to regular Gravebird Armor. Rugalea and the nearby catacomb bosses are unnecessary.
Stone platform near Igon
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Pillar Path Waypoint
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Castle Front, follow the road southeast to Pillar Path Waypoint. Continue along the road south near Igon and look for the stone dais lined with Gravebird statues on the route toward the Suppressing Pillar.
- Check the corpse on that platform for Gravebird Bracelets, watching for the birds that come alive. You do not need to complete Igon's quest, enter Dragon's Pit or defeat a dragon.
Poison pool north of Moorth Ruins
Scadu Altus
Starting Site of Grace: Moorth Ruins
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Moorth Ruins grace in Scadu Altus, ride northeast to the small triangular pool. Look for the cave beside a statue of Marika and a Scadutree Fragment.
- Enter the cave and follow it past the perfumers to the glowing golden tree. Take the path to its right down into the swamp.
- When the cave opens into the poison-filled area, search the stone platform among the Gravebird statues in the pool. Collect the anklets from the corpse there before continuing northwest toward Rauh Base.
- Watch for birds among the statues and move out of the poison after collecting the item. This is a fixed pickup, not a random enemy drop.
Gravebird altar west of Abandoned Ailing Village
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Greatbridge, North
- To enter the Realm of Shadow, defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, then touch the withered arm in Mohg's arena at Mohgwyn Palace.
- From Greatbridge, North in Gravesite Plain, head north around the small lake with the Ghostflame Dragon. The armor is on the northern side of this lake, west of Abandoned Ailing Village, rather than inside Belurat Gaol on its western shore.
- Find the stone platform and sarcophagus among the rows of Gravebird statues. Some birds animate as you approach, so clear them or leave room to get past.
- Loot the corpse beside the sarcophagus for the regular chest. The Ghostflame Dragon is optional and the birds do not need to drop the armor.
Notes
- With regular Gravebird Armor, the four equipped pieces weigh 13.3 and provide 27 poise. With Blackquill Armor instead, that becomes 14.7 weight and 30 poise. The two chests are alternatives.
- Gravebird Helm increases Rings of Spectral Light damage by 15%. That does not improve every death sorcery, an unrelated weapon or your Spirit Ashes.
- Blackquill Armor increases eligible jumping weapon-attack damage by 10% in PvE or 5% in PvP. Regular Gravebird Armor, the bracelets and the anklets have no attack bonus.
- The helmet and winged chest work independently. Wearing the complete outfit gives no extra bonus, and neither passive requires the matching limbs.
- All five items are separate fixed pickups. The headpiece is in Enir-Ilim, while the chests and limbs are spread across Gravesite Plain, Scadu Altus and Rauh Base.
- None can be altered. You cannot turn the regular chest into Blackquill Armor through tailoring.
