About this spirit
Costs 60 FP and summons a pot-throwing puppet. Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort.
His mixture can deal several damage types and build ailments including Poison, Blood Loss and Frostbite. You do not select which pot he throws next.
That variety gives him useful options, but makes him unreliable for a setup that needs one specific ailment immediately.

In-game description
One of Seluvis's puppets.
Use to summon the spirit of a jarwight.
Spirit of a man who wished to become the innards of a living jar. A jar-hurling specialist who throws all manner of pots and jars.
The warrior jar once told the nameless man this:
"You are not yet ready to join the warriors inside. No, you must apply yourself! Better yourself, and one day I will return for you."
Where to find
Seluvis's Rise
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Ranni's Rise
- Reach the western Liurnia road and follow it north through Kingsrealm Ruins. Strike the illusory wall blocking the road at the northern end, then continue past Iji at Road to the Manor.
- Ride toward the large manor while avoiding the magical strikes falling along the approach. Activate Main Caria Manor Gate grace at the entrance.
- Inside, follow the courtyard path northwest toward the building in the far corner. Fingercreepers hide among the plants and beneath the ground; do not stop on a buried hand.
- Enter the building with the seated spirit and climb its stairs to Manor Lower Level grace.
- Take the elevated walkways east and continue straight along the main route at the first junction. Spectral soldiers appear along the bridges. Reach the far building and take its lift up to Manor Upper Level.
- Leave the upper grace, pass the wolves in the garden and climb the main stone stairway toward the Troll Knight and sorcerers.
- Continue up the stairs beyond the troll and Pages to the large circular courtyard. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta, then activate Royal Moongazing Grounds grace.
- Leave Loretta's arena through the northern exit into Three Sisters. Visit Ranni's Rise to the west, agree to serve her, speak to the projections downstairs and speak to Ranni again before leaving.
- Visit Seluvis's Rise south of Ranni's tower and accept the potion task. Keep Ranni's Fingerslayer Blade handover for after any puppet purchases you still need.
- To preserve Nepheli's quest, give the potion to Gideon at Roundtable Hold for disposal. Report back to Seluvis and finish his dialogue; the shop sequence still proceeds.
- In the ruins northeast of Ranni's Rise, strike or roll over the illusory floor to reveal stairs. Descend, read the message beside the puppets and examine the workshop.
- Return to Seluvis and ask about his chambers. Take the offered initial puppet. To buy another, leave and return with enough Starlight Shards, then ask for a new puppet; if that dialogue has not appeared, collect another shard and reload the area.
- Starlight Shards are the payment, so keep them instead of consuming them for FP. Arrange the required listing before giving Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade.
- Choose Jarwight as the free puppet, or buy him for three Starlight Shards if you chose another first.
Notes
- Costs 60 FP and summons a pot-throwing puppet. Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort.
- His mixture can deal several damage types and build ailments including Poison, Blood Loss and Frostbite. You do not select which pot he throws next.
- That variety gives him useful options, but makes him unreliable for a setup that needs one specific ailment immediately.
- The throws do not consume your own crafted-pot inventory. He still needs room and a clear throw; he has limited protection when an enemy reaches him.
- Seluvis can give him as the free initial puppet. If purchased afterward he costs three Starlight Shards, while Therolina costs two, so choosing Jarwight first saves one shard when collecting both.
- Giving the potion to Gideon for disposal preserves Nepheli's quest while allowing the puppet-shop sequence to continue. Unlock the reward before giving Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade.
- His available throws include Fire, Redmane Fire, Volcano, Lightning, Oil, Poison, Fetid, Swarm and Freezing Pots. They provide Fire or Lightning damage, oil coating, Poison, Blood Loss and Frostbite in different combinations.
- Oil can improve a later Fire hit, while Fire can clear an enemy's active Frostbite damage-negation penalty so Frostbite can be built again. Since his throws are chosen by AI, those interactions can help or interfere with a planned setup.
- His listed pot selection does not include a guaranteed Sleep attack. Do not choose him expecting Dolores's reliable supply of Sleep arrows.
- If Nepheli received the potion, Dolores may also be offered as an initial puppet. The three-versus-two shard saving compares Jarwight with Therolina specifically.
