You can mix these pieces with other armor. Matching the outfit does not add a separate full-set bonus; special effects come from the individual pieces.
The 4 regular pieces weigh 19.8 in total and provide 34 poise together. Add your weapons and talismans before checking whether you can keep a medium roll.
The merchant sells all four regular pieces for 4,500 runes: 1,000 for the helm, 1,500 for the armor and 1,000 each for the gauntlets and greaves.

Where to find
Isolated Merchant's Shack
Greyoll's Dragonbarrow
Starting Site of Grace: Isolated Merchant's Shack
Before you go
- Have 4,500 runes for all regular pieces.
- Visit during the day.
- Reach the northern Dragonbarrow plateau in Caelid. Follow its northern road west from the area around the Divine Tower of Caelid, keeping above the coastal cliffs.
- Continue to Isolated Merchant's Shack at the western end of this road. Use the grace beside the shack and speak to the merchant inside during daylight.
- If the merchant is missing at night, pass time until morning and reload the area. A Bell Bearing Hunter can appear here at night; defeating it is not required to buy the armor.
- Open Purchase and buy the regular outfit pieces separately for 4,500 runes in total.
Samurai starting equipment
- Choose Samurai when creating your character. You begin with this outfit, so no merchant or boss is needed. The starting chest is Land of Reeds Armor (Altered); the helm, gauntlets and greaves are regular pieces.

- Samurai starts with the altered chest and the regular helm, gauntlets and greaves. That starting combination weighs 19.3 and has 33 poise. The merchant's regular chest makes the bought outfit 0.5 heavier with one more poise.
- The armor does not improve katana damage, blood loss or Dexterity. It is separate from the White Reed outfit found later in the Mountaintops.
