In-game description
A sword with a glintstone in its handguards. Wielded by scholars of the Lazuli Conspectus who seek to master Carian sorcery.
Deals magic damage.
Apparently once used as a staff of sorcery, this sword is made of wood.
Skill
Skill that employs the glintstone sorcery of the same name. Follow up with a strong attack to chain this skill into a lunging thrust, performed while the armament is still imbued with glintstone.Ash of War: Glintstone Pebble
Where to find
Liurnia of the Lakes
Starting Site of Grace: Schoolhouse Classroom
Before you go
- Enter Raya Lucaria Academy with the Academy Glintstone Key.
- From Schoolhouse Classroom, go through the southern doorway into the adjoining corridor. Find the Lazuli Sorcerer patrolling close to the grace with a sword and shield.
- Defeat that sorcerer and check its dropped items. Rest at Schoolhouse Classroom and repeat until the sword drops.
- The ordinary staff-using sorcerers are a different enemy and do not drop this weapon.
- The sword has a base 2% drop chance at 100 Discovery. The sorcerer respawns when you rest, making this a short repeatable farm. You do not need to defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon beyond the classroom to farm this corridor.
Notes
- Requires 8 Strength, 9 Dexterity and 13 Intelligence and weighs 3.5. It deals physical and magic damage. Strength provides the strongest physical scaling, Dexterity is weaker, and Intelligence improves the magic portion.
- Shares Carian Knight's Sword's heavy attack: the sword briefly guards during the preparation before swinging. It is not a free parry or invulnerability window. Blocked hits can still cost HP and stamina, and an empty stamina bar leaves you open to a guard break.
- Glintstone Pebble costs 8 FP to fire. Follow it with a strong attack for a lunging thrust costing another 4 FP. The lunge closes distance, but firing the pebble does not force you to commit to it.
- The projectile deals magic damage and improves with weapon upgrade level and Intelligence. The thrust includes a weapon hit, so ordinary sword damage matters for that part. Raising Strength for melee damage does not improve the projectile in the same way.
- Its pebble is a weapon skill, not a memorized sorcery. It needs no memory slot or equipped staff, but sorcery-specific talismans do not boost it as a spell. Shard of Alexander boosts the skill instead.
- Upgrade with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. The skill and normal affinity are fixed, and grease or a weapon enchantment cannot be applied. The sword does not cast the sorceries in your spell slots.
- Only the sword-carrying Lazuli Sorcerers drop it. The ordinary glintstone staff users beside them are different enemies, so identify the right carrier before repeating the farm.
