About this spirit

Costs 72 FP to summon both soldiers together. One carries an axe and the other a spear, giving you two aggressive melee attackers rather than a single named knight.

Both use charge attacks and can interrupt enemies that react to their hits. Their aggression can keep lighter foes busy, but it does not guarantee that a boss will stagger or stay focused on them.

The axe soldier can use its own battle cry and altered attacks. This is the summon's behavior; equipping the same skill or a soldier outfit on your character does not pass that benefit to the pair.

Technical details

Separate summoning cost and upgrade fields are not recorded for this spirit. The description and notes contain the reviewed information.

In-game description

Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirits of two of Messmer's soldiers.

One soldier wields an axe, while the other wields a spear. Both of them are adept at charge attacks.

These soldiers belonged to the ignoble penal battalion, and were buried hidden from the Scadutree's sight.

Where to find

Graveyard behind the Fort of Reprimand

Scadu Altus

Starting Site of Grace: Moorth Highway, South

  1. From Moorth Ruins in Scadu Altus, follow the highway south. Ride around the soldiers fighting the Ghostflame Dragon and continue through the passage at the southern end of their battlefield.
  2. Activate Moorth Highway, South grace in front of Fort of Reprimand, then enter the fort's main gate. Deal with the courtyard Omenkiller or draw it away before exploring the gallows and doorways.
  3. Beside the gallows, find the square chute in the northern part of the courtyard. Drop onto its first ledge, where a separate corpse holds Shadow Realm Rune [4], then descend into the lower corpse room.
  4. An Omenkiller waits around the left corner near the bodies. Clear it or keep enough distance to get through the room; its Iris of Occultation is a separate reward.
  5. Follow the small stairs and the passage out to the narrow exterior graveyard. Loot the large gravestone before the ladder for Messmer Soldier Ashes.
  6. The ladder leads back to the upper wall. You do not need to fight Black Knight Edredd for the ashes.

Notes

  • Costs 72 FP to summon both soldiers together. One carries an axe and the other a spear, giving you two aggressive melee attackers rather than a single named knight.
  • Both use charge attacks and can interrupt enemies that react to their hits. Their aggression can keep lighter foes busy, but it does not guarantee that a boss will stagger or stay focused on them.
  • The axe soldier can use its own battle cry and altered attacks. This is the summon's behavior; equipping the same skill or a soldier outfit on your character does not pass that benefit to the pair.
  • Upgrade them with Grave Glovewort to +10 through Roderika. Reinforcement improves the spirits without increasing their 72 FP summoning cost.
  • Their weapon damage does not use your Strength or Dexterity, and your equipped axe or spear does not replace theirs. Spirit reinforcement and, in the Realm of Shadow, Revered Spirit Ash Blessing are the relevant upgrades.
  • Use the ashes where the rebirth-monument icon appears, with the Spirit Calling Bell and enough FP. Ordinary Spirit Ash restrictions still apply, including the restriction during multiplayer.
  • Looted from the grave outside the fort after descending the courtyard chute. Neither Omenkiller awards these ashes, and Edredd's upper hall is optional for the pickup.
