Caelid
Starting Site of Grace: Aeonia Swamp Shore
- For an overland approach, take the road east from Summonwater Village into Caelid and continue toward the Swamp of Aeonia. Activate Aeonia Swamp Shore on its western side before heading into the water.
- Ride Torrent across the rot-covered ground to Street of Sages Ruins along the swamp's western edge. Staying mounted keeps your character out of the water; enemy attacks are still dangerous.
- Look in the southwestern part of the ruins for a small broken tower with steps and poisonous plants inside.
- Collect Meteorite Staff from the corpse hanging through its window. Clear the plants or approach the outside edge carefully; no boss guards the pickup.
- Rock Sling is a different reward in the cellar farther north. Picking up the staff does not automatically teach that spell.
Notes
- Cannot be upgraded. Its high starting Intelligence scaling makes it useful early, but there is no +10 or +25 version to work toward later.
- Increases gravity sorcery damage by 30%. Its casting stat is Intelligence: the staff has 244 sorcery scaling at 60 Intelligence and 272 at 80 Intelligence, with the gravity bonus applied separately.
- Intelligence still improves its sorcery scaling even though Smithing Stones cannot improve it. A fixed upgrade level does not mean its damage stays unchanged as your character levels.
- Rock Sling is found in the same ruins area, but the spell and staff are separate pickups. Getting one does not automatically give you the other.
- It has No Skill and cannot use a replacement Ash of War.
- Requires 18 Intelligence and 6 Strength. The Strength requirement lets you wield it; raising Strength does not improve its Sorcery Scaling.
- The 30% gravity bonus also works when you cast with a different staff while keeping Meteorite Staff active in the other hand. This lets it remain useful after a stronger upgraded casting staff overtakes its own scaling.
- Two active copies multiply their gravity bonuses to 69%. That is a damage-school bonus, rather than an increase to the Sorcery Scaling displayed on the equipment screen.
- The bonus applies to gravity sorceries such as Rock Sling. It does not boost a weapon's gravity skill just because its effects look similar, and it does not increase the distance that a pulling spell moves a target.
- Grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied to the staff itself. Its S Intelligence grade does not mean every other staff is weaker at every upgrade level and stat spread.
