Consecrated Snowfield
Starting Site of Grace: Consecrated Snowfield
Before you go
- Reach Consecrated Snowfield with the Haligtree Secret Medallion.
- Obtain the right Haligtree Secret Medallion half from Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics. He is disguised as a pot on the uphill path, before the bridge leading toward the Omenkiller.
- Obtain the left half from the tower beyond Commander Niall at Castle Sol in the northern Mountaintops. After winning, continue behind his arena, ride the lift and loot the rooftop corpse.
- Return to Grand Lift of Rold with both halves and switch to the secret-medallion prompt. The ordinary Rold Medallion sends you to a different destination.
- Take the main stairs through Hidden Path to the Haligtree and leave into Consecrated Snowfield. Activate the first Consecrated Snowfield grace after emerging into the blizzard.
- Ride northeast from that first grace and look for the troll-drawn carriage on the road through the southeastern part of the snowfield. Poor visibility makes its pulling trolls easier to recognize than the chest.
- Attack a pulling troll to stop the carriage, then reach its rear platform and open the chest for St. Trina's Torch. You do not have to kill every escort before collecting the item if you can get to it safely.
- The other carriage farther northwest carries Flowing Curved Sword. Neither the Ordina puzzle nor a Night's Cavalry kill is required for this torch.
Notes
- Requires 10 Strength, 10 Dexterity and 14 Faith, and weighs three. Dexterity improves its physical damage more strongly than Strength, while Faith improves its Fire portion.
- Ordinary hits have 72 Sleep buildup. The torch has no Arcane scaling, so raising Arcane does not increase that buildup; Faith improves Fire damage rather than the Sleep amount.
- Fires of Slumber costs 15 FP and spreads hazy purple flames on the ground ahead to build Sleep. The skill's cloud is for applying the ailment, rather than a burst of direct Fire damage.
- This is ordinary Sleep, rather than the eternal sleep of Velvet Sword of St. Trina. Susceptibility varies by enemy: some fall asleep, some only pause briefly and others are immune. Further attacks can wake a sleeping target.
- The ground flame and ordinary torch strikes are separate ways to build Sleep. The skill does not put the Sword of St. Trina's temporary weapon coating onto another weapon.
- Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Fires of Slumber and its affinity are fixed, and grease or a weapon enchantment cannot be applied.
- A fixed carriage chest in the southern snowfield. The other caravan has a different weapon, so an empty search of that carriage does not mean the torch failed to drop.
