In-game description
Metal torch that burns with cold ghostflame. Tool of the Fallen Hawks who prowl the underground rivers. When the band's last embers were used up in their long search, they began to burn the bones of their fellows, acquiring the cold ghostflame, but sealing their fate as dwellers of the underground for all eternity.
Skill
Thrust torch forward to set foes ablaze. This skill is especially effective against foes who are weak to fire.
Where to find
Siofra River
Starting Site of Grace: Fort Haight West
Before you go
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn to open the Mistwood crater.
- Enter the crater near Fort Haight and descend its ledges into Nokron. When you reach the first roofs, stop before dropping toward the city's streets.
- Follow the narrow sloped roof support to its square platform. Look southeast for the separate stone spire across the gap and take a running jump onto it.
- Climb the broken support on the other side of the spire and jump east onto the roof with the corpse. Collect Ghostflame Torch there.
- If you have already dropped to the lower rooftops, return through the crater and approach again from above. The torch's roof is reached before the first Nokron grace.
Notes
- Requires 10 Strength, 10 Dexterity and 14 Intelligence, and weighs 2.5. Intelligence improves its Magic damage; Strength and Dexterity have equal scaling for its smaller physical portion.
- Its cold flame deals Magic damage rather than Fire and has 65 Frostbite buildup on ordinary hits. Intelligence improves damage, without increasing that fixed Frostbite buildup.
- Frostbite only triggers on susceptible enemies. Its Magic flame does not supply an ordinary Fire hit for clearing active Frostbite and immediately building it again.
- Torch Attack costs no FP. It uses the torch's existing damage and ailment; the generic skill name does not turn this weapon into a Fire-damage torch.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War, with No Skill as the useful option for letting your other hand's skill take priority. It keeps Standard affinity; whetblades do not add elemental or status affinities to this torch.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones to +25. Grease and weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- It gives light without boosting death sorceries, spectral-ring spells or other ghostflame weapons. Those bonuses are not part of this torch's effects.
- The corpse is on the first Nokron rooftops before the first city grace. Collect it from the crater approach; after dropping to the lower roofs, return through the crater to try the upper jump again.
