About this spirit
Costs 138 FP and summons a slow, heavily protected golem. Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort, up to +10.
His damage resistance is the main reason he can stay in a fight. Healing support can preserve him through repeated hits instead of letting that protected health pool steadily run down.
His slow movement makes a fast enemy or long chase awkward. Summon near the intended fight rather than expecting him to cross the arena quickly.
Technical details
Separate summoning cost and upgrade fields are not recorded for this spirit. The description and notes contain the reviewed information.
In-game description
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell. Use to summon the spirit of Taylew the golem smith.
The spirit of the stalwart stone golem who launches his own fists as projectiles.
Taylew was said to be the runt of the litter and the first to stop moving, but it was he who became the guardian deity of smithery.
Where to find
Smithing altar in Taylew's Ruined Forge
Rauh Base
Starting Site of Grace: Taylew's Ruined Forge
- From Moorth Ruins grace in Scadu Altus, ride northeast to the small triangular pool. Look for the cave beside a statue of Marika and a Scadutree Fragment.
- Enter the cave and follow it past the perfumers to the glowing golden tree. Take the path to its right down into the swamp.
- Turn left through the route beneath the rock and continue until you emerge into Rauh Base. Activate Ancient Ruins Base grace ahead.
- From Ancient Ruins Base, follow the road north-northeast beneath the enormous bridge to Taylew's Ruined Forge. Enter the structure and activate its grace.
- Inside, go downstairs, cross the small bridge and climb down the ladder. Descend through the gap in the next floor to the enormous tilted metal pipe.
- Jump onto the pipe and walk uphill. Take the right-hand platform into the golem room and go up its ramp, watching for slimes dropping from the ceiling.
- Drop over the railing into the corridor below. Follow it toward the archway, turn right and climb the ladder. Go upstairs and pull the lever to reverse the pipe's tilt.
- Use the nearby suspended platform and stairs to return to the pipe. Walk up its newly raised end and jump onto the platform on the left.
- Climb the final ladder and interact with the smithing altar. You receive Taylew and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, and an exit wisp appears.
Notes
- Costs 138 FP and summons a slow, heavily protected golem. Upgrade him with Ghost Glovewort, up to +10.
- His damage resistance is the main reason he can stay in a fight. Healing support can preserve him through repeated hits instead of letting that protected health pool steadily run down.
- His slow movement makes a fast enemy or long chase awkward. Summon near the intended fight rather than expecting him to cross the arena quickly.
- High protection does not make him immune to every attack or let the player stop contributing. Keep healing and attacking when openings appear.
- There is no boss at Taylew's Ruined Forge. Interact with the smithing altar for the ashes and Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone rather than killing every golem.
- He does not improve your equipment or replace Roderika simply because he is a smith. His upgrades use the same spirit-tuning system as other special ashes.
- Can launch his fists as projectiles as well as punch at close range. The ranged option helps when a target moves away, although his slow travel still matters.
- He has a comparatively small health pool protected by strong damage reduction. A heal can refill a useful share of that protected pool, making healing support more valuable than judging him by maximum HP alone.
- His stone body is particularly resistant to Fire. It is not the same as a Crystalian's breakable crystal shell, and killing the other golems is unnecessary for his protection to work.
- Upgrades through Roderika to +10 with Ghost Glovewort, finishing with a Great Ghost Glovewort. Reinforcement does not increase the summoning payment.
- Requires Spirit Calling Bell and an area where the rebirth-monument icon allows summoning. The ash remains reusable, but you cannot repeatedly replace fallen spirits during the same encounter.
