About this spirit
Costs 70 FP and summons three militia fighters with saw weapons. Upgrade the group with Grave Glovewort.
Their attacks can build Blood Loss. A vulnerable target occupied by the player gives the group more time to land repeated hits.
The fighters have limited durability and struggle when surrounded. A broad swing can remove several before their buildup produces a proc.

In-game description
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.
Use to summon the spirits of three vulgar militiamen.
Spirits of the vulgar militia who wield long-hafted, serrated hatchets. These brutal weapons are particularly effective at causing blood loss to opponents.
In the Lands Between, the small were scorned, and so they formed their vulgar militia as a means to make a living, albeit in ignominy.
Where to find
Side room below the chariot ramps in Auriza Hero's Grave
Capital Outskirts
Starting Site of Grace: Auriza Hero's Grave
- From Outer Wall Battleground in the Capital Outskirts, follow the road east and down beneath the capital approach bridge. Stay in the low valley and take the southern dungeon entrance for Auriza Hero's Grave, not Auriza Side Tomb to the north.
- Ride the lift down and activate the grace. The sealed room straight ahead is an optional weapon pickup. You do not need a Stonesword Key for the chariot route.
- Take the western stairs to the first chariot ramp. Trigger the chariot, then retreat until it passes. Move between the side recesses rather than trying to outrun it for the whole slope.
- At the narrow archway between the ramps, drop off the side into the lower room. Clear the Basilisks without standing in their Death Blight clouds, then follow the western passage and stairs.
- Continue through the next Basilisk rooms to the archway overlooking two chariot lanes. Stay back from its lip, since a chariot can catch you even while you are looking out.
- Work down the slope using the recesses and switching lanes after a chariot passes. At the short flat landing, wait for another opening before continuing toward the corpse hanging over the deep shaft near the bottom.
- Drop from the hanging corpse onto the beam below, then continue down the wooden beams toward the statue and the Basilisks on the lower level. This side room is reached before dropping farther onto the narrow stone arch used for the pillar route.
- Deal with the Basilisks, including the ones that emerge from the ground, and enter their chamber. Continue south into the room with a ladder on its western wall.
- Loot the corpse for Vulgar Militia Ashes and watch for another buried Basilisk near the flower. The ladder is an exit, not a requirement for the pickup.
- The Crucible Knight pair and chariot collision are both optional for these ashes.
Notes
- Costs 70 FP and summons three militia fighters with saw weapons. Upgrade the group with Grave Glovewort.
- Their attacks can build Blood Loss. A vulnerable target occupied by the player gives the group more time to land repeated hits.
- The fighters have limited durability and struggle when surrounded. A broad swing can remove several before their buildup produces a proc.
- Their small size does not provide immunity to low attacks or ground hazards. Keep contributing rather than assuming the entire group stays safe underneath a large boss.
- The corpse is in Auriza Hero's Grave's lower side rooms. The Crucible Knight pair and chariot-destruction puzzle are optional for this pickup.
- Auriza Side Tomb is a different dungeon and awards Soldjars of Fortune. Its mist-filled chests are not the route to the militia.
