About this spirit
Costs 37 FP and summons one Winged Misbegotten. Upgrade it with Grave Glovewort to +10. It is a relatively inexpensive ranged summon rather than a heavily armored melee fighter.
Mostly takes flight and shoots its shortbow. The arrows deal Pierce damage, while its occasional dagger and dash attacks deal Standard damage. It does not consume arrows from your inventory.
Flight can carry it above some low attacks, but broad sweeps, projectiles and explosions can still hit it. Its low poise makes it easy to interrupt or knock out of the air.

In-game description
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.
Use to summon the spirit of a winged misbegotten.
A spirit with the aspect of wings which takes flight to loose arrows from its bow. The misbegotten are held to be a punishment for making contact with the Crucible, and from birth they are treated as slaves, or worse.
Where to find
Lower room of sleeping Misbegotten in Unsightly Catacombs
Altus Plateau
Starting Site of Grace: Unsightly Catacombs
Before you go
- Bring two Stonesword Keys.
- Reach Altus Plateau by collecting the Dectus Medallion halves from Fort Haight and Fort Faroth, or by defeating Magma Wyrm Makar at Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Reach Abandoned Coffin in the lower western valley.
- From Abandoned Coffin, follow the shallow lake northwest toward Perfumer's Ruins. Before entering the ruins, take the lower path on the left toward the cliff entrance to Unsightly Catacombs.
- Spend two Stonesword Keys at the entrance seal and activate the grace inside. Descend the stairs and check the corner on the right for a Misbegotten before approaching the one lying on the floor.
- Continue north along the passage as it turns right. Deal with the large patrolling Misbegotten and the other enemy coming around the corner before descending the next stairs.
- Watch for a winged enemy on the right at the bottom. Continue through the passage to the room with a dog and large Misbegotten, then use the hallway on the right relative to where you entered.
- Follow the stairs winding around the large open chamber to the lower landing. Look down for the floor full of apparently dead Misbegotten, then drop carefully and crouch. Several of those bodies are sleeping enemies.
- Hug the right wall of the lower room and loot the corpse for Winged Misbegotten Ashes. Move slowly so you do not wake the entire group.
- The northern hallway and stairs lead up toward the boss lever and the exit route. Perfumer Tricia and the Misbegotten Warrior are unnecessary for this corpse pickup.
Notes
- Costs 37 FP and summons one Winged Misbegotten. Upgrade it with Grave Glovewort to +10. It is a relatively inexpensive ranged summon rather than a heavily armored melee fighter.
- Mostly takes flight and shoots its shortbow. The arrows deal Pierce damage, while its occasional dagger and dash attacks deal Standard damage. It does not consume arrows from your inventory.
- Flight can carry it above some low attacks, but broad sweeps, projectiles and explosions can still hit it. Its low poise makes it easy to interrupt or knock out of the air.
- Keep the target occupied so the spirit has room to shoot. It has limited health and damage, so the low summoning cost is more useful than expecting it to hold a boss alone.
- The ashes are on a corpse among the sleeping Misbegotten in Unsightly Catacombs. They are not a random drop from the flying archers outside.
- The entrance spends two Stonesword Keys. The boss pair is optional for these ashes; defeating them gives Perfumer Tricia, a different summon.
