About this item
Deals Magic damage that scales only with Intelligence. The damage does not use the staff you happen to be holding.
Costs 6 FP per normal throw and uses a Ritual Pot. Ordinary Magic Pot costs 3 FP and uses a Cracked Pot, so the two recipes draw on different container supplies.
Its base Magic hit is stronger than ordinary Magic Pot's, while the Intelligence scaling follows the same attribute. Enemy Magic defense and resistance still determine the actual HP lost.

Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [8]
Consecrated Snowfield
Starting Site of Grace: Inner Consecrated Snowfield
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [8]
- Empty Ritual Pot
- Ingredients for one pot: 2 Glintstone Firefly and 1 Old Fang
- Reach Consecrated Snowfield
- Obtain the right half from Albus, disguised as a pot uphill from Village of the Albinaurics grace beneath Liurnia's western plateau. Obtain the left half from the tower rooftop beyond Commander Niall at Castle Sol.
- Return to the Grand Lift of Rold, stand at the medallion prompt and switch actions to Hoist secret medallion. The ordinary Hoist medallion action leads to a different region.
- In Hidden Path to the Haligtree, follow the main corridor and take the steps on the left up through the Militia and Land Octopus enemies. Stay on the normal walkway; dropping through the broken railing starts an optional lower dungeon.
- Activate Hidden Path to the Haligtree grace near the exit and continue outside. The lower Stray Mimic Tear boss is unnecessary for the snowfield.
- Travel north through the blizzard, following the road and its lights rather than riding toward the cliff edges. Activate Consecrated Snowfield and continue toward Inner Consecrated Snowfield as visibility improves.
- From Inner Consecrated Snowfield, head east while staying south of the frozen river. Continue northeast toward Albinauric Rise on the eastern high ground.
- Before reaching the tower, loot the corpse surrounded by three floating masses of stone faces. It is southwest of the rise, in the open rather than inside the sealed building.
- Collect the cookbook while keeping clear of their attacks. You do not need to solve the tower's imp puzzle for this pickup.
- If Item Crafting is unavailable, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. A cookbook supplies recipes, rather than replacing the kit.
- Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Ritual Pot. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Academy Magic Pot.
- Equip the prepared pot in a quick-item slot or pouch so you can use it during a fight. Another craft needs fresh ingredients after the first has been thrown.
Notes
- Deals Magic damage that scales only with Intelligence. The damage does not use the staff you happen to be holding.
- Costs 6 FP per normal throw and uses a Ritual Pot. Ordinary Magic Pot costs 3 FP and uses a Cracked Pot, so the two recipes draw on different container supplies.
- Its base Magic hit is stronger than ordinary Magic Pot's, while the Intelligence scaling follows the same attribute. Enemy Magic defense and resistance still determine the actual HP lost.
- No academy staff, memory slot or sorcery casting requirement is needed. The recipe is in Consecrated Snowfield, reached with both Haligtree Secret Medallion halves at Grand Lift of Rold, rather than inside Raya Lucaria.
- The recipe corpse is southwest of Albinauric Rise. Solving the tower's imp puzzle is unnecessary, and the nearby floating face spheres are hazards rather than ingredients.
- One craft uses 2 Glintstone Firefly and 1 Old Fang. It occupies one empty Ritual Pot; throwing it frees that container for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent.
- Against enemies, Companion Jar increases its damage by 20%. Jar headgear adds 15%, or Greatjar adds 17%; the two pieces of headgear are alternatives. Companion Jar with Greatjar gives 40.4% more damage before other effects.
- Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon do not boost it as a weapon skill or charged spell. It is a thrown consumable with its own scaling, not an attack from your equipped weapon.
- Recipes using the same container type share the available empty containers. A Cracked Pot, Ritual Pot and Hefty Cracked Pot are different types and cannot substitute for one another.
