About this item

Applies Deadly Poison with a base 250 buildup before Arcane scaling. Its shorter, faster drain is different from the ordinary Poison Pot's status.

Using it also builds Poison on you. Repeated throws can poison the player even if the enemy is immune, so carry Neutralizing Boluses or another cure.

Deadly Poison normally lasts 30 seconds instead of ordinary Poison's 90. Faster damage per second does not mean a longer-lasting effect or automatically more total damage.

In-game description

Craftable item prepared using a cracked pot.

A cocktail of effluents is sealed inside. As the mixture ferments, toxins are produced alongside a putrid stench that seeps out once ripe.

Throw at enemies to cause buildup of deadly poison.

Beware though; those who carry these pots will slowly accumulate poison in their own bodies.

Push someone in a privy; expect to get dung on your hands.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [4]

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Mistwood Outskirts

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [4]
  • Empty Cracked Pot
  • Ingredients for one pot: 1 Mushroom and 1 Gold-Tinged Excrement
  1. Follow the road south into Mistwood toward the map monument for eastern Limgrave.
  2. Near the monument, look for the large Runebear scratching a tree.
  3. Approach the nearby corpse carefully and loot the cookbook. Fighting the bear is optional.
  4. Move away once you have the item, since the bear can close the distance quickly.
  5. If needed, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. Owning a cookbook alone does not open Item Crafting.
  6. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Cracked Pot. Open Item Crafting outside combat and make Fetid Pot, then assign it to a quick-item slot or pouch.

Notes

  • Applies Deadly Poison with a base 250 buildup before Arcane scaling. Its shorter, faster drain is different from the ordinary Poison Pot's status.
  • Using it also builds Poison on you. Repeated throws can poison the player even if the enemy is immune, so carry Neutralizing Boluses or another cure.
  • Deadly Poison normally lasts 30 seconds instead of ordinary Poison's 90. Faster damage per second does not mean a longer-lasting effect or automatically more total damage.
  • Costs no FP. Arcane improves the buildup, not the fixed strength or duration of the poison after it triggers.
  • Your own poison activation can trigger nearby-poison equipment such as Kindred of Rot's Exultation, but you still suffer the health drain. Cure it when the setup is complete rather than treating self-poison as harmless.
  • Do not assume it bypasses Poison immunity. More buildup helps reach a resistance threshold, rather than making an immune target susceptible.
  • Each craft uses 1 Mushroom and 1 Gold-Tinged Excrement and occupies one empty Cracked Pot. The ingredients are spent, while throwing the pot returns its container for another mixture.
  • Other recipes using the same container type share that supply. The recipe remains unlocked after use, but an empty pot does not refill itself without another craft.
