About this item

Deals Lightning damage that favors Dexterity, with a smaller Strength contribution. Faith does not improve it despite its ancient-dragon theme.

Costs no FP and requires no sacred seal or incantation slot. Its stronger base hit is separate from the Lightning Pot's lower-cost ingredients and Cracked Pot container.

Each craft spends one Gravel Stone. Fixed Gravel Stone pickups do not refill after resting, so a renewable late dragon drop is useful if you use many of these.

Craftable item prepared using a ritual pot.

Engraved with the crest of the ancient dragon.

Throw at enemies to inflict heavy lightning damage.

Allows one to wield ancient drake lightning regardless of faith. The residual power of relics is a purely natural phenomenon.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Ancient Dragon Apostle's Cookbook [4]

Crumbling Farum Azula

Starting Site of Grace: Dragon Temple Lift

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Ancient Dragon Apostle's Cookbook [4]
  • Empty Ritual Pot
  • Ingredients for one pot: 2 Mushroom, 1 Fulgurbloom and 1 Gravel Stone
  • Reach Crumbling Farum Azula
  • Two Stonesword Keys
  1. After the Godskin Duo, continue from Dragon Temple Altar into the ruins lined with dragon statues.
  2. Climb the stairs along the outer wall to the imp seal. Spend two Stonesword Keys and take the lift to Dragon Temple Lift.
  3. Follow the optional upper ruins past the dragon with golden wings. Keep climbing the broken masonry toward the round, domed tower at the far end.
  4. Check inside the tower and loot the cookbook from the corpse.
  5. If Item Crafting is unavailable, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. A cookbook supplies recipes, rather than replacing the kit.
  6. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Ritual Pot. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Ancient Dragonbolt Pot.
  7. Equip the prepared pot in a quick-item slot or pouch so you can use it during a fight. Another craft needs fresh ingredients after the first has been thrown.

Notes

  • Deals Lightning damage that favors Dexterity, with a smaller Strength contribution. Faith does not improve it despite its ancient-dragon theme.
  • Costs no FP and requires no sacred seal or incantation slot. Its stronger base hit is separate from the Lightning Pot's lower-cost ingredients and Cracked Pot container.
  • Each craft spends one Gravel Stone. Fixed Gravel Stone pickups do not refill after resting, so a renewable late dragon drop is useful if you use many of these.
  • The cookbook is in optional upper Farum Azula ruins beyond the two-key Dragon Temple Lift. That key payment opens the lift route; it is not repeated for each pot you craft.
  • One craft uses 2 Mushroom, 1 Fulgurbloom and 1 Gravel Stone. It occupies one empty Ritual Pot; throwing it frees that container for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent.
  • Against enemies, Companion Jar increases its damage by 20%. Jar headgear adds 15%, or Greatjar adds 17%; the two pieces of headgear are alternatives. Companion Jar with Greatjar gives 40.4% more damage before other effects.
  • Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon do not boost it as a weapon skill or charged spell. It is a thrown consumable with its own scaling, not an attack from your equipped weapon.
  • Recipes using the same container type share the available empty containers. A Cracked Pot, Ritual Pot and Hefty Cracked Pot are different types and cannot substitute for one another.
