About this item

Deals Fire damage that scales only with Faith. Ordinary Fire Pot and Redmane Fire Pot favor Strength and Dexterity instead, so the strongest choice depends on your actual attributes.

Costs 10 FP for a normal throw and uses a Ritual Pot. It does not require a seal or the attribute requirement of a Giants' Flame incantation.

Holding Giant's Seal does not pass that seal's incantation-school bonus to a thrown consumable. Pot equipment and appropriate Fire-damage bonuses are separate effects.

Where to find

Crafting after obtaining Armorer's Cookbook [7]

Mt. Gelmir

Starting Site of Grace: Seethewater Terminus

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Armorer's Cookbook [7]
  • Empty Ritual Pot
  • Ingredients for one pot: 2 Fire Blossom
  1. Follow Seethewater River around the western side of Mt. Gelmir to Seethewater Terminus.
  2. Head west uphill to Fort Laiedd and enter its courtyard. A Fire Prelate guards the interior.
  3. Go through the wooden doorway into the lower room and loot the corpse beside the stairs.
  4. The book is inside the fort, below the rooftop where the spirit and other loot are found.
  5. If Item Crafting is unavailable, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. A cookbook supplies recipes, rather than replacing the kit.
  6. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Ritual Pot. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Giantsflame Fire Pot.
  7. Equip the prepared pot in a quick-item slot or pouch so you can use it during a fight. Another craft needs fresh ingredients after the first has been thrown.

Notes

  • Deals Fire damage that scales only with Faith. Ordinary Fire Pot and Redmane Fire Pot favor Strength and Dexterity instead, so the strongest choice depends on your actual attributes.
  • Costs 10 FP for a normal throw and uses a Ritual Pot. It does not require a seal or the attribute requirement of a Giants' Flame incantation.
  • Holding Giant's Seal does not pass that seal's incantation-school bonus to a thrown consumable. Pot equipment and appropriate Fire-damage bonuses are separate effects.
  • Each craft needs two Fire Blossoms. The recipe is obtained in Fort Laiedd, but the blossoms themselves are commonly associated with the Mountaintops.
  • The explosion deals Fire rather than a special black-flame health drain. Strong Fire resistance can sharply reduce the impact.
  • One craft uses 2 Fire Blossom. It occupies one empty Ritual Pot; throwing it frees that container for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent.
  • Against enemies, Companion Jar increases its damage by 20%. Jar headgear adds 15%, or Greatjar adds 17%; the two pieces of headgear are alternatives. Companion Jar with Greatjar gives 40.4% more damage before other effects.
  • Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon do not boost it as a weapon skill or charged spell. It is a thrown consumable with its own scaling, not an attack from your equipped weapon.
  • Recipes using the same container type share the available empty containers. A Cracked Pot, Ritual Pot and Hefty Cracked Pot are different types and cannot substitute for one another.
