About this item

Deals Fire damage, scaling mainly with Strength and more weakly with Dexterity. Faith does not improve this ordinary Fire Pot just because its damage is Fire.

A cheap way to bring Fire damage without memorizing a spell or equipping a sacred seal. Its small explosion can catch nearby enemies, but hitting a wall or the ground too early can waste the throw.

Fire damage can remove an active Frostbite effect, allowing a frost setup to begin building toward another burst. Removing Frostbite also ends its temporary damage vulnerability.

Where to find

Crafting with the Crafting Kit

Limgrave

Starting Site of Grace: Church of Elleh

Before you go

  • Crafting Kit
  • Empty Cracked Pot
  • Ingredients for one pot: 1 Mushroom and 1 Smoldering Butterfly
  1. From The First Step in Limgrave, travel north to the ruined Church of Elleh and speak to Kale beside the campfire.
  2. If Item Crafting is unavailable, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. A cookbook supplies recipes, rather than replacing the kit.
  3. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Cracked Pot. Outside combat, open Item Crafting and select Fire Pot.
  4. Equip the prepared pot in a quick-item slot or pouch so you can use it during a fight. Another craft needs fresh ingredients after the first has been thrown.

Notes

  • Deals Fire damage, scaling mainly with Strength and more weakly with Dexterity. Faith does not improve this ordinary Fire Pot just because its damage is Fire.
  • A cheap way to bring Fire damage without memorizing a spell or equipping a sacred seal. Its small explosion can catch nearby enemies, but hitting a wall or the ground too early can waste the throw.
  • Fire damage can remove an active Frostbite effect, allowing a frost setup to begin building toward another burst. Removing Frostbite also ends its temporary damage vulnerability.
  • Redmane Fire Pot has a stronger base explosion but needs a Ritual Pot and an Old Fang. Giantsflame Fire Pot is a different Faith-scaling option with an FP cost.
  • One craft uses 1 Mushroom and 1 Smoldering Butterfly. It occupies one empty Cracked Pot; throwing it frees that container for another recipe, while the ingredients are spent.
  • Against enemies, Companion Jar increases its damage by 20%. Jar headgear adds 15%, or Greatjar adds 17%; the two pieces of headgear are alternatives. Companion Jar with Greatjar gives 40.4% more damage before other effects.
  • Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon do not boost it as a weapon skill or charged spell. It is a thrown consumable with its own scaling, not an attack from your equipped weapon.
  • Recipes using the same container type share the available empty containers. A Cracked Pot, Ritual Pot and Hefty Cracked Pot are different types and cannot substitute for one another.
