In-game description
Greatsword forged from a blue-white meteoric ore.
The blade conceals gravity-manipulating magic.
A weapon unique to the Alabaster Lords, a race of ancients with skin of stone who were said to have risen to life when a meteor struck long ago.
Skill
Thrust the armament into the ground to create a gravity well. In addition to dealing damage, this attack pulls enemies in. Has a greater area of effect than Gravitas.
Where to find
Ainsel River
Starting Site of Grace: Lake of Rot Shoreside
Before you go
- Reach the Lake of Rot through the underground route beyond Nokstella.
- Start at Caria Manor in northwestern Liurnia. Defeat Royal Knight Loretta and enter Three Sisters behind the manor. Visit Ranni at the top of Ranni's Rise and agree to serve her. Speak to the spirits downstairs, then return to Ranni to finish the conversation.
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn at Redmane Castle. Return to southern Mistwood and find the new crater near Fort Haight, marked by floating rocks. Descend using its ledges and enter Nokron, Eternal City.
- Work across Nokron's rooftops to the streets and continue to Mimic Tear. Defeat it and cross the long bridge beyond its arena. Leave the bridge on the left into the woods, then follow the cliff to Ancestral Woods grace.
- Jump from the cliff beside that grace onto the roof below. Follow the rooftops and narrow building ledges into Night's Sacred Ground. Continue across the broken stone arch into the church, descend inside, and leave onto the lower street. Follow that street to the enormous seated figure and open the chest underneath it for Fingerslayer Blade.
- Return the blade to Ranni at her tower. Before doing this, finish any remaining Seluvis rewards you want. Rest after speaking to Ranni, then visit Renna's Rise, the northern tower in Three Sisters. Climb it and use the sending gate to Ainsel River Main.
- Collect Miniature Ranni from the coffin near where you arrive. Rest at Ainsel River Main and select Talk to miniature Ranni repeatedly until she answers. Finish her dialogue.
- Follow the river through Uhl Palace Ruins, using cover against the hanging creature's projectiles. Continue through the ant tunnel to Nokstella. Follow the river at ground level through the city and take the lift in the small building at the far end to Nokstella Waterfall Basin.
- Go through the cave beyond Waterfall Basin and defeat the Baleful Shadow in the open red-lit area. Ranni gives you Discarded Palace Key. Return to Raya Lucaria Grand Library, where you defeated Rennala, and unlock the chest beside her for Dark Moon Ring.
- Return to the Baleful Shadow area and take the lift beyond it to Lake of Rot. Bring a way to remove Scarlet Rot. Cross toward the southwestern entrance to Grand Cloister, stepping on the raised platforms' switches to create places to stop.
- Cross toward Grand Cloister using the pressure plates to raise safe platforms. At the southwestern end, raise the tall stone structures and reach their upper level by the cliff west of the Grand Cloister entrance.
- Approach the gravitational disturbance on the raised structure to make the Alabaster Lord appear. Defeat it for the sword, keeping a Scarlet Rot cure ready for the approach and retreat.
Consecrated Snowfield
Starting Site of Grace: Yelough Anix Tunnel
Before you go
- Use both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion at the Grand Lift of Rold to enter the Consecrated Snowfield.
- Collect both Haligtree Secret Medallion halves: reveal Albus's pot in Village of the Albinaurics for the right half, and defeat Commander Niall in Castle Sol before collecting the left half from the tower behind his arena.
- At the Grand Lift of Rold, switch to the secret-medallion action. Pass through Hidden Path to the Haligtree into Consecrated Snowfield, then follow the western cliff north toward Yelough Anix Ruins.
- Find the descending approach to Yelough Anix Tunnel in the cliff south of the ruins. Take the entrance lift and activate the grace.
- Follow the passage to the pit beside a door locked from the other side. Use the ledge along the pit to descend in two short drops, then take the southern tunnel to the wooden walkways.
- Continue along the lower wooden walkway and descend its ladder into the icy chambers. Explore the lower passage northwest of the ladder for the Alabaster Lord's gravitational disturbance.
- Defeat this lower Alabaster Lord for another sword. The upper Onyx Lord and Astel at the final doors give different rewards and are unnecessary for this weapon.
Notes
- Requires 16 Strength, 12 Dexterity and 18 Intelligence, and weighs 8. Strength provides the strongest increase to its substantial Physical damage; Dexterity is weaker, while Intelligence improves its much smaller Magic portion.
- Its short reach is the main tradeoff for a light greatsword. Do not judge a swing's reach by the longer-looking swords in the same class.
- Charged heavy attacks use unusually strong damage multipliers for their low stamina cost, especially two-handed. The two-handed charged hit has 215% weapon attack power compared with the one-handed hit's 175%.
- The first charged heavy deals 33 stance damage and the second deals 44, whether one-handed or two-handed. Two-handing does not add the ordinary extra heavy-attack stance bonus here.
- Alabaster Lords' Pull costs 15 FP. The sword plunge is a weapon hit; the following gravity field deals separate Magic damage that improves with Intelligence and weapon upgrades.
- The pull can draw lighter enemies closer or bring flying enemies down. A large boss can resist being moved, so the field is not a guaranteed interrupt against every attack.
- Shard of Alexander improves the skill, and Spellblade armor improves its Magic portion. Godfrey Icon does not boost this uncharged skill; Axe Talisman instead improves the sword's actual charged heavy attacks.
- Deals 20% extra damage against eligible gravity enemies. That enemy-specific bonus is separate from its ordinary split damage and does not make every purple-effect enemy the same target category.
- Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. The skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- The Lake of Rot and Yelough Anix Tunnel enemies give separate copies. The Alabaster Lord on Limgrave's beach gives Gravitas, and the academy one gives Gravity Well instead of this sword.
