In-game description

Well-crafted straight sword with an illustrious

design, wielded by regulars of a lord's army.

Though blackened and damaged by years of use, it appears to have otherwise been kept in a serviceable condition, despite the soldiers having long since lost their minds.

Starting Site of Grace: Gatefront

  1. From Church of Elleh, follow the road north through the woods to Gatefront Ruins. Activate Gatefront grace beside the large gate leading toward Stormhill.
  2. Look southeast of the grace for the large black carriage on the western side of the soldier camp, closest to the Stormhill gate.
  3. Approach its rear, draw away any nearby guards and climb onto the rear platform. Open the chest for Lordsworn's Greatsword.
  4. You can collect it without clearing the whole camp, defeating its knight or going through Stormgate.

Notes

  • Requires 16 Strength and 10 Dexterity and weighs 9. Standard affinity leans slightly toward Strength while still gaining Physical damage from Dexterity.
  • Its critical rating is 110. That improves backstabs and ripostes, rather than giving all its ordinary attacks a 10% damage bonus.
  • The critical modifier alone does not guarantee stronger critical hits than another greatsword. The weapons' attack power, affinity and the enemy's defenses also matter.
  • Stamp (Upward Cut) costs 5 FP for the bracing step, followed by a strong-attack input costing another 8 FP for the rising cut. The brace resists interruption rather than making you invulnerable.
  • The chest gives a fixed weapon pickup. Soldiers carrying a similar sword are not an alternative farming method for this greatsword.
  • It is different from Lordsworn's Straight Sword, which soldiers can drop. The eastern Gatefront carriage contains Flail instead.
  • Upgrade it with Smithing Stones to +25. Can use compatible Ashes of War; changing the affinity can change which attributes improve its damage.
  • Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
  • It has no innate blood loss, poison or Frostbite. An appropriate affinity or compatible buff is needed if you want one of those effects.
