Notes

• With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling.
• Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
• Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
• Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
• Its normal weapon hits build up blood loss. The effect only triggers against enemies that are vulnerable to it.
• Requires 15 Strength and 14 Dexterity and weighs 10. Dexterity is its main Standard attribute; Keen supports that focus, while Occult offers an Arcane option for its existing bleed.
• Has 55 innate Blood Loss buildup. Arcane does not improve Standard, Heavy or Keen buildup; Blood, Poison and Occult provide the Arcane scaling needed to improve it.
• Cold retains bleed while adding Frostbite. Intelligence improves the added Magic damage, rather than directly increasing Frostbite buildup.
• Its one-handed heavy attacks sweep horizontally instead of using the usual overhead greatsword chop. That wider motion helps cover several nearby enemies, with less room to swing beside walls.
• Starts with Stamp (Upward Cut): 5 FP for the bracing step, then 8 FP for the heavy follow-up that launches smaller enemies. The two inputs are separate costs.
• Keen uses a slightly weaker Dexterity modifier for some separate Keen, Quality, Lightning and Cold skill projectiles. Its strong blade scaling does not make every Thunderbolt or Beast's Roar equally strong.
• The wavy blade causes bleed rather than built-in Fire damage. Its name and connection to Redmane Castle do not give Standard attacks an elemental component.
• The festival temporarily locks the pickup route. Defeat Radahn, finish Jerren's dialogue and reload to restore ordinary castle access; you have not permanently missed the sword.
