In-game description
Greatsword bestowed upon skilled swordsmen in the demigods' service, and yet had no rank or title.
Featuring a long grip enabling dual-handed use, this weapon was designed to dispatch larger foes. Being charged with such a duty was undoubtedly a great honor.

Starting Site of Grace: Warmaster's Shack
- From Stormhill Shack, follow the eastern road through the woods to Warmaster's Shack. Continue northeast toward the soldiers' camp on the road to Saintsbridge.
- Find the heavily armored Godrick Knight carrying a greatsword in that camp. Clear the nearby soldiers and dogs or draw the knight away before fighting.
- Defeat the greatsword carrier, collect any loot and rest at Warmaster's Shack to reset it. Gatefront's spear knight is a different weapon farm.
- Other regional knights carrying this same greatsword can also drop it. A spear, greatbow or differently named sword is not interchangeable just because the enemy wears knight armor.
Notes
- With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with weaker Strength scaling.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- Requires 16 Strength and 12 Dexterity and weighs 10. Its long blade gives it useful reach without changing its weapon class into a colossal sword.
- Its two-handed light chain uses the flowing, more vertical pattern shared with Banished Knight's Greatsword, Inseparable Sword and Leontiel's Greatsword. One-handing it gives a different light-attack pattern.
- Standard leans toward Dexterity more than Banished Knight's Greatsword does. Heavy can still support Strength, while Keen emphasizes Dexterity; the chosen affinity matters more than the knight who dropped it.
- Starts with Stamp (Upward Cut). The bracing step costs 5 FP, and the heavy follow-up costs another 8 FP for the upward strike. Bracing is not invulnerability.
- The weapon has a 4% base chance at 100 Item Discovery from knights carrying the greatsword. Gatefront's spear-carrying knight drops a different weapon, even though its armor matches.
- There is no innate Lightning coating on the dropped sword. A knight's combat enchantment does not remain permanently applied to the player's copy.
