Where to find
Miquella's Haligtree
Starting Site of Grace: Haligtree Town Plaza
Before you go
- Reach Miquella's Haligtree.
- From Haligtree Town Plaza, follow the route north to the large red-haired Misbegotten Warrior praying at the statue.
- Defeat that greatsword carrier and check its drop. Rest at the plaza grace and repeat until Iron Greatsword drops.
- The smaller Misbegotten have different weapon drops.
Altus Plateau
Starting Site of Grace: Avenue Balcony
Before you go
- Reach Leyndell, Royal Capital before defeating Maliketh.
- From Avenue Balcony, climb the stairs back up to Leyndell's main avenue. Turn left and follow the broad road east toward the large double doors.
- Open the doors and continue onto the ash-covered street leading uphill toward the eastern lift. Look for the two large red-maned Misbegotten Warriors among the smaller Misbegotten and Perfumers, with one farther up near the stairs.
- Use a ranged attack to draw a warrior away from the surrounding enemies, defeat it and collect its loot. Return to Avenue Balcony to reset and repeat.
- Farm before defeating Maliketh, since the changed capital removes these carriers. The lift and later Forbidden Lands enemies are unnecessary for the weapon drop.
Notes
- With Standard affinity, physical damage scales most strongly with Strength, with weaker Dexterity scaling.
- Upgrade it with Smithing Stones. Its maximum upgrade is +25.
- Can use compatible Ashes of War. Your choice of skill and the whetblades you've found determine which affinities you can apply.
- Grease or a weapon enchantment can be applied while using an affinity that allows weapon buffs.
- Requires 18 Strength and 10 Dexterity and weighs 12. Strength is clearly its stronger Standard scaling attribute; Heavy develops that Strength focus further.
- Its high base Physical attack makes it useful for a straightforward physical setup. The extra weight is a tradeoff, and it does not receive a unique universal stance-damage bonus simply from being made of iron.
- Starts with Stamp (Upward Cut). The bracing step costs 5 FP, followed by another 8 FP for the rising heavy strike. Bracing helps withstand a hit but does not make you invulnerable.
- The blade has no innate bleed or elemental damage and has a normal 100 critical rating. A compatible affinity, coating or replacement skill supplies those additional properties.
- The base drop chance is 4% at 100 Item Discovery from the large red-maned Misbegotten Warriors. Smaller Misbegotten and their winged bow carriers have different drops.
- The two Leyndell carriers disappear when Maliketh's defeat changes the capital. The Haligtree farm remains an alternative afterward, so the weapon itself is not permanently lost.
- The Leonine Misbegotten boss at Castle Morne awards Grafted Blade Greatsword. Its similar appearance does not make it the repeatable Iron Greatsword farm.
