Before you go

Reach Altus Plateau through Dectus or Ruin-Strewn Precipice and follow the eastern highway through the capital outskirts to Outer Wall Battleground.
From Outer Wall Battleground, follow the outer road east and then northeast toward Leyndell's entrance. Pass the archer golems and approach the mounted Draconic Tree Sentinel guarding the gate.
Defeat him to receive Dragonclaw Shield and Dragon Greatclaw. The mounted sentinel outside Maliketh's room in Farum Azula does not drop this shield.

Requires 30 Strength and 14 Dexterity and weighs 16. Two-handing meets the Strength requirement at 20 actual Strength; Dexterity still needs to be 14.
Its ordinary attacks deal physical Strike and lightning damage. Strength is the stronger contributor to physical damage, with Dexterity contributing to both physical and lightning damage. Faith does not improve it as a lightning incantation.
Deals 30% extra damage against ordinary dragons and 15% against ancient dragons. This is useful against the matching targets, but does not remove their lightning resistance or give a bonus against every large boss.
Endure costs 9 FP and briefly makes it harder to interrupt you while reducing incoming damage. It gives time for an attack or another action, but does not prevent HP loss or make a long enemy combo safe to ignore.
The skill does not coat the claw in additional lightning or recreate the Draconic Tree Sentinel's large lightning attacks. Its lightning damage is already part of the weapon's normal attack power.
Upgrade with Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Endure and the affinity are fixed, and grease or an outside weapon enchantment cannot be applied. You cannot replace Endure with a more offensive Ash.
The weapon and Dragonclaw Shield are the guaranteed paired reward from the mounted sentinel at Leyndell's northeastern entrance. They do not need to be equipped together, and the sentinel outside Maliketh in Farum Azula gives different equipment.
