In-game description
A formless sacred seal decorated with an Erdtree crest, once the focus of religion in the Lands Between.
Even though the Elden Ring is shattered, and the Erdtree has dulled from its former radiance, earnest faith continues to hold the answers.

Starting Site of Grace: Prison Town Church
Before you go
- Reach Volcano Manor's prison town.
- If you have not entered the dungeon yet, speak to Tanith in Volcano Manor and agree to join her to get the Drawing-Room Key. Open the first room on the right in the corridor. Roll into or strike the illusory wall in the back-right corner to reveal a passage. Follow it downstairs, past the snails and Bloodhound Knight, to the Prison Town Church grace.
- Leave Prison Town Church through the large doors. Follow the rooftops and outer street downhill toward the lower town, watching for the Abductor Virgin.
- Reach the small lower plaza with the circular stone platform and the Omenkiller beside the burning bodies. Use the descending steps and gate to enter the plaza instead of crossing onward toward Guest Hall.
- Keep clear of the Omenkiller and the dog in the southeastern alley. From the plaza, take the short steps northeast to the open prison cell with the lit doorway.
- Enter the cell and loot the corpse at the back for Erdtree Seal. The Omenkiller has a separate cleaver reward; its defeat is unnecessary if you can safely collect the seal.
Notes
- This seal's incantation scaling is based on Faith. It does not have a spell-school bonus just because an incantation has Erdtree in its name.
- Faith is its only casting stat, and it performs best with high Faith investment. At +10, it has 273 incantation scaling at 60 Faith and 353 at 80 Faith. A +25 Finger Seal is stronger at 60 Faith with 286 scaling, but weaker at 80 Faith with 324.
- The displayed scaling comes from Faith rather than a mixture of casting stats. At 80 Faith, its 353 scaling is higher than the other purely Faith-scaling seals before their individual spell-school bonuses.
- It has No Skill. Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones, up to +10. The seal is a fixed pickup in Volcano Manor's prison town, not a reward for killing Rykard.
- Requires 40 Faith and weighs nothing. Finding it early does not bypass that Faith requirement, and its casting curve rewards high investment more than a low-Faith setup.
- Its Faith-only scaling also works fully for direct healing and Faith-scaled weapon enchantments. A hybrid seal's larger displayed total can be misleading for those particular spells.
- Holding a school-boosting seal in your other hand can add that seal's passive to eligible incantations cast with Erdtree Seal. This combines strong casting scaling with the selected school bonus.
- A second Erdtree Seal provides no special multiplicative school bonus. Neither seal has one, regardless of their names or reinforcement levels.
- It does not increase the fixed strength or duration of effects such as Golden Vow, Flame, Grant Me Strength or fixed regeneration. Its high scaling matters for effects that actually use casting scaling.
- The prison cell is an ordinary pickup. You do not need to finish a Manor contract, defeat Godskin Noble or kill Rykard to collect it.
