Starting Site of Grace: Frenzied Flame Proscription
Before you go
- Complete Hyetta's grape requests in Liurnia.
- Defeat Morgott and Mohg, the Omen, and reach Frenzied Flame Proscription.
- Accept the Frenzied Flame from the Three Fingers.
- Begin Irina's quest beside the road south of Bridge of Sacrifice. Deliver her letter to Edgar on Castle Morne's upper rampart, defeat Leonine Misbegotten behind the castle, and return to Edgar. Then visit Irina's original position and finish Edgar's dialogue there.
- Meet Hyetta at Lake-Facing Cliffs. Collect the first Shabriri Grape from the room at Stormveil's northern exit, beside the ghost, and give it to her. You can enter this room from the Liurnia side.
- After resting, find Hyetta beside Purified Ruins in eastern Liurnia. Break the wooden floor covering the cellar stairs in the ruins, collect the grape from the corpse downstairs, and give it to her.
- Visit Revenger's Shack in western Liurnia and defeat Edgar the Revenger when he invades. Take his Shabriri Grape to Hyetta near Gate Town Bridge. Tell her what the grapes really are, finish her dialogue, then reload the area and speak to her again.
- Meet Hyetta at Bellum Church. She now wants Fingerprint Grape. Travel toward Grand Lift of Dectus and take the uphill route south of the lift toward Frenzied Flame Village. Use rocks and terrain to block the tower's view while its flame is active.
- Go through the village and climb the northern ridge to Church of Inhibition. Activate the church grace and defeat Festering Fingerprint Vyke for Fingerprint Grape. Return it to Hyetta at Bellum Church.
- In Leyndell, Royal Capital, start at Avenue Balcony. Descend the northwestern stairs and go through the door. Follow the railing west, then drop left onto the lower rooftops.
- Drop off the right side of the roof, turn back north and find the well behind the broken wall. Climb its ladder, open the gate in the lower passage and take the next ladder down.
- Follow the damp corridor northeast into the rat-filled sewer entrance. Go through the southeastern doorway and descend the ladder into the large Omen hallway.
- Head northeast along the hallway and enter the first room on the left, opposite the summoning statue. Activate Underground Roadside grace.
- Leave Underground Roadside and go northeast along the Omen hallway to the open floor grate. Drop into it, follow the rat tunnel northwest and take the side pipe on the right rather than the flower-filled route to Dung Eater's cell.
- Follow the slug-filled pipe. Drop through its first floor opening into the dark room, leave through the door on the left and follow the next tunnel. At the slug-blocked bend, go left and drop through the next opening beside the corpse with Rainbow Stone Arrows.
- In the lower chamber, watch for the ambusher near your landing and the Revenant farther inside. Use the tunnel in the western corner, continue through the open metal gate and follow the bends past the slugs to the square room with an Omen and ladder.
- Climb the ladder and turn right to pull the lever, opening a shortcut back to Underground Roadside. Watch for two more Omen by the statue. Take the nearby doorway into the broken spiral-stair chamber.
- Turn left and drop to the lower section of the curved stairs. Follow the short flight down and enter the passage on the right. Farther along, the downward ladder by the ledge leads to Nomad Ashes; continue into the other pipe route for Mohg.
- In the Basilisk pipes, pass the first right turn with a door that opens from the other side. Take the next right into the Omen's room. Climb its ladder, cross the wooden bridge past the Imp and open the doors back toward Underground Roadside.
- From that opened bridge, climb onto the upper pipe and follow it to the end. Drop onto the lower pipe and reach the wooden walkway by the corpse with Golden Rune (10). Enter the doorway and kick down the ladder to make another shortcut.
- Drop onto the pipe below this platform, then through the opening in its top. Inside, take the northeastern direction from your landing. Follow the pipe as it bends southeast, then northeast to the fork beside Golden Rune (11).
- Take the left fork and drop through its floor opening after the small rat. The route straight toward the giant rat loops to an earlier area. The correct lower landing is beside a Commoner and Smithing Stone (5).
- Open the nearby gate for a shortcut, then follow the passage northeast. Climb down the ladder to the room with living jars and take its lift down to Forsaken Depths grace.
- From Forsaken Depths, continue down the stairs into Mohg, the Omen's arena. Defeat him and activate Cathedral of the Forsaken grace. His direct reward is Bloodflame Talons; the chest by the altar contains Erdtree's Favor +1.
- Strike the altar behind the chest to reveal the passage. If Morgott's seal blocks it, defeat Morgott in the capital before continuing. Mohg, Lord of Blood in Mohgwyn Palace is a different boss.
- Descend the shaft using its wooden beams and projecting coffin lids. Land on each surface before the next drop. Reach Frenzied Flame Proscription at the bottom and speak to Hyetta beside the sealed door.
- This door gives you the Frenzied Flame and its ending consequences. When ready, remove your armor and open it to meet the Three Fingers. Opening it is required for Hyetta's seal reward.
- Return to Hyetta, touch her when prompted, and finish her dialogue. Collect Frenzied Flame Seal from the reward she leaves behind.
Notes
- Faith is its strongest casting stat. Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence also contribute, but each has weaker scaling than Faith at equal investment. These extra contributions help hybrid builds rather than making all four attributes equally valuable.
- Direct healing and weapon enchantments use the Faith contribution to incantation scaling. Investing in the other three stats for damage spells does not give the same benefit to those spells.
- Increases damage from Frenzied Flame incantations by 20%. This improves their damage, not the amount of Madness buildup just because both belong to the same spell.
- It has no equipment stat requirements and weighs nothing, but each incantation still needs its own required stats. Its No Skill setup also leaves your other hand's skill available.
- Getting it through Hyetta requires inheriting the Frenzied Flame. That blocks the other ending choices unless you later remove it with Miquella's Needle. Melina also leaves if she is still with you when you inherit it.
- Upgrade it with Somber Smithing Stones, up to +10. The seal's Madness buildup on a physical hit does not make all incantations cast through it inflict Madness.
- The school passive works while held in the other hand, including when Dragon Communion Seal or another catalyst performs the cast. Two held copies multiply to a 44% damage bonus.
- It boosts damaging Frenzied Flame attacks, including The Flame of Frenzy, Unendurable Frenzy, Frenzied Burst, Inescapable Frenzy and Midra's Flame of Frenzy. It does not make Howl of Shabriri's fixed attack buff larger.
- The 55 Madness shown on the seal belongs to its physical melee hit. It does not add 55 self-Madness to every cast or add Madness to an unrelated healing spell.
- No equipment requirements make it useful for Intelligence-only incantations such as Law of Regression when you have the required Intelligence but little Faith. The spell's own requirements and FP cost still apply.
- Its 20% passive stays the same at every upgrade level. Another seal can supply stronger casting scaling while this one supplies its held bonus.
- Removing the Frenzied Flame afterward with Miquella's Needle does not confiscate the seal. That cure has its own quest and location requirements; obtaining this reward does not make the ending choice irreversible in every circumstance.
