Starting Site of Grace: Bestial Sanctum

In eastern Limgrave, find the Third Church of Marika. Search the bushes behind the church for the waygate and use it to reach Bestial Sanctum in Dragonbarrow.
On arrival, enter the huge doors behind you and activate Bestial Sanctum grace. You do not need to give Gurranq Deathroot or attack him to reach the weapon boss.
Leave through the front doors and approach the black gargoyle on the steps. This Black Blade Kindred is much stronger than the enemies near the Limgrave church, so return later if your damage and healing are still low.
Defeat Black Blade Kindred to receive Gargoyle's Blackblade and Gargoyle's Black Halberd together. Neither weapon is a random drop, and the kindred before Grand Lift of Rold has different rewards.

Requires 18 Strength, 10 Dexterity and 22 Faith and weighs 11.5. Strength improves the Physical portion most, while Faith improves the Holy portion.
Corpse Wax Cutter costs 16 FP. The downward sword swing and the travelling Holy blade have separate hitboxes, so close positioning can land both parts.
The projectile applies a brief health-draining effect. Repeated applications refresh that drain rather than adding several independent drains at once.
The projectile is Holy damage, even though its red-black appearance resembles flame. Holy damage bonuses help the direct hit; a Fire bonus does not turn it into a stronger Fire attack.
The health drain is part of the skill, rather than an innate effect on every sword hit. The other three black gargoyle weapons do not share this projectile.
Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Corpse Wax Cutter and the affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
Shard of Alexander improves direct skill damage, while Holy bonuses strengthen the travelling blade. Godfrey Icon does not apply because the skill cannot be charged.
The travelling blade deals 20 stance damage. Connecting the downward swing as well adds close-range stance pressure rather than merely repeating the same projectile.
