In-game description
Greatsword made of light, modeled after the Elden Ring itself. Forged by King Consort Radagon to proudly
symbolize the tenets of the Golden Order.
One of the legendary armaments.
Telltale signs betray that this was once the greatsword bequeathed to him by his first wife, Rennala.
Skill
Raise the armament in a salute, releasing a golden explosion. Repeated inputs send out waves of golden light.
Where to find
Consecrated Snowfield
Starting Site of Grace: Cave of the Forlorn
Before you go
- Use the Haligtree Secret Medallion to reach Consecrated Snowfield.
- Bring two Stonesword Keys.
- Use both Haligtree Secret Medallion halves at Grand Lift of Rold, pass through Hidden Path to the Haligtree and follow the road north through the blizzard to Inner Consecrated Snowfield. The frozen river runs east and west across the clearer northern part of the snowfield.
- Follow the frozen river east through Consecrated Snowfield to the cave entrance guarded by a Giant Land Octopus. Use two Stonesword Keys to remove the barrier and activate the grace before dropping inside.
- After activating the elevated entrance grace, drop into the cave and go east past the summoning pool. Continue east through the Misbegotten chambers to the large ice formations; the northern side room is optional.
- Climb the stone steps on the first large ice formation. Make the running jump across to the next formation, then jump to the onward snowy path and follow its descending platforms. Avoid dropping straight from the top into the deep chasm.
- Follow the ledges down into the lower chamber. Take the southwestern passage past the jellyfish, then continue west to the next hole.
- Descend that hole one ledge at a time. At the bottom, enter the boss door and defeat the Misbegotten Crusader to receive Golden Order Greatsword.
Notes
- Requires 16 Strength, 21 Dexterity and 28 Faith, and weighs 10. Dexterity is the stronger Physical attribute, Strength contributes little, and Faith improves Holy damage.
- Has an innate 20% damage bonus against eligible undead enemies. That classified enemy bonus does not mean every enemy that looks skeletal or spectral takes it.
- Establish Order costs 20 FP for the surrounding golden explosion. A follow-up input adds two sword swings and the forward wave for another 20 FP, making the complete skill 40 FP.
- The opening explosion and final golden strike use the weapon's Holy attack power. The first follow-up sword swing also uses its Physical portion, so the whole sequence is not a single independent Faith-only projectile.
- The final sword strike and its wave share a hit. Standing point-blank does not make that final impact count twice as a full blade hit and full wave hit.
- All three damaging stages give about 37.4 stance damage when they connect. The opening burst is useful for nearby enemies, while the final wave reaches farther ahead.
- Shard of Alexander improves the skill. Holy bonuses strengthen its golden damage; Godfrey Icon does not because holding or delaying the follow-up is not a charge.
- The long follow-up can be interrupted or miss a moving target. Use the first explosion on its own when there is no safe opening for the full sequence.
- Uses Somber Smithing Stones to +10. Its skill and affinity are fixed, and grease or weapon enchantments cannot be applied.
- Counts as a legendary armament. The Misbegotten Crusader in Cave of the Forlorn gives it, rather than an enemy in the capital or the Golden Order seal pickup.
