About this item
Deals Magic impact damage and applies a fixed 400 Frostbite buildup. Arcane and Intelligence do not raise that buildup.
Ordinary Freezing Pot applies 380, so this is only a 20-point buildup increase. It also has a stronger impact, a heavier throw and different ingredients, rather than simply doubling the old recipe.
A Frostbite activation causes its own burst and makes the target take 20% more damage for 30 seconds. More frost hits cannot trigger another burst during that active effect.

Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Greater Potentate's Cookbook [11]
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Belurat Gaol
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Greater Potentate's Cookbook [11]
- Empty Hefty Cracked Pot
- Ingredients for one pot: 3 Whiteflesh Mushroom and 3 Frozen Maggot
- Find the cave with an open metal gate beyond the lake west of Greatbridge, North. Activate Belurat Gaol inside.
- Follow the left ledge down the stairs, watching the cell doorway for an ambush. When the stairs collapse, cross the bridge ahead and go through the right-hand window in the room of jars.
- Continue through the dining room and along the ledge to the circular shaft. Descend using the hanging jars, checking each landing and keeping clear of their chains.
- Reach the floor below the wooden scaffolding and continue through the low doorway. Cross the next bridge, then take the left stairs that collapse into the jar maze.
- Find the room's exit but stay inside the maze. Face back from the exit and climb the nearby broken pots. Drop over them, then follow the left passage toward the gap by the cave-wall ladder.
- At the cave wall, turn right and follow the passage past the jar creature. Look for the narrow gap with a ladder on its left and a large pot lid on its right.
- Go through that gap and turn right to the corpse beside the broken pots. Loot the cookbook before leaving the maze.
- Collect the book before leaving the maze. Defeating the dungeon boss is not required.
- If needed, buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes. Owning a cookbook alone does not open Item Crafting.
- Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Open Item Crafting outside combat and make Hefty Freezing Pot, then assign it to a quick-item slot or pouch.
Notes
- Deals Magic impact damage and applies a fixed 400 Frostbite buildup. Arcane and Intelligence do not raise that buildup.
- Ordinary Freezing Pot applies 380, so this is only a 20-point buildup increase. It also has a stronger impact, a heavier throw and different ingredients, rather than simply doubling the old recipe.
- A Frostbite activation causes its own burst and makes the target take 20% more damage for 30 seconds. More frost hits cannot trigger another burst during that active effect.
- Fire damage clears the active Frostbite effect, allowing another buildup cycle while ending the temporary vulnerability. Decide whether another burst is worth losing that damage window.
- Costs no FP and uses a Hefty Cracked Pot. The recipe spends Frozen Maggots and Whiteflesh Mushrooms instead of the ordinary pot's Rimed Crystal Buds.
- Companion Jar and Greatjar can improve eligible direct damage, but do not increase the 400 buildup or turn an immune enemy into a valid target.
- Each craft uses 3 Whiteflesh Mushroom and 3 Frozen Maggot and occupies one empty Hefty Cracked Pot. The ingredients are spent, while throwing the pot returns its container for another mixture.
- Other recipes using the same container type share that supply. The recipe remains unlocked after use, but an empty pot does not refill itself without another craft.
