About this item
Creates a large Fire eruption and whirlwind. Damage has strong Faith scaling, with smaller Strength and Dexterity contributions.
Faith's returns slow sharply after about 50, so its larger coefficient does not mean every later Faith point gives the same gain. Strength and Dexterity remain smaller contributions rather than being completely unused.
Costs no FP and needs no sacred seal. Holding a seal does not pass its incantation-school bonus to the pot.

In-game description
Craftable item prepared using a capacious cracked pot.
Imbued with a hex of the furnace.
Throw at an enemy to create a whirlwind of flame.
The furnace's flame burns away both body and soul.
When impurity is thus expunged, one calls it cleansing.
Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Greater Potentate's Cookbook [2]
Gravesite Plain
Starting Site of Grace: Greatbridge, North
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Greater Potentate's Cookbook [2]
- Empty Hefty Cracked Pot
- Ingredients for one pot: 2 Redflesh Mushroom, 2 Ember of Messmer and 1 Furnace Visage
- From Greatbridge, North, head east and follow the slope down beneath the bridge.
- Look for the small ruined shack called Run-Down Traveler's Rest.
- Enter the shack and loot the corpse seated against the wall.
- Buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is unavailable. Keep the cookbook; it remains usable after learning its recipes.
- Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Open Item Crafting outside combat, prepare Hefty Furnace Pot and assign it to a quick-item slot or pouch.
Notes
- Creates a large Fire eruption and whirlwind. Damage has strong Faith scaling, with smaller Strength and Dexterity contributions.
- Faith's returns slow sharply after about 50, so its larger coefficient does not mean every later Faith point gives the same gain. Strength and Dexterity remain smaller contributions rather than being completely unused.
- Costs no FP and needs no sacred seal. Holding a seal does not pass its incantation-school bonus to the pot.
- Can launch susceptible human-sized enemies. Large bosses and enemies with strong interruption resistance do not necessarily suffer the same reaction.
- Throw one inside the dormant Furnace Golem's basket at Ruins of Unte to wake it. That particular golem blocks the ruins and awards Bloodsucking Cracked Tear when defeated.
- A successful basket hit also causes heavy damage to active Furnace Golems. For armored-leg versions, use the nearby high ground to reach the open basket; hitting the outside is not equivalent.
- Each craft spends a Furnace Visage. Hefty Fire Pot avoids that ingredient for some basket attacks, but does not replace the special Furnace Pot needed to wake the dormant Ruins of Unte golem.
- The returned container is reusable, while the visage and other ingredients are spent even when a throw misses. Wait for the basket to move into a clear throwing arc.
- One craft uses 2 Redflesh Mushroom, 2 Ember of Messmer and 1 Furnace Visage and an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Throwing returns the container, while another mixture needs fresh ingredients.
- Recipes using the same container type share the empty supply. Cracked Pots, Ritual Pots and Hefty Cracked Pots cannot replace one another.
- Ruins of Unte is below Shadow Keep. From the burning-boat courtyard, descend the ladder beside the southeastern railing, go behind the waterfall and use the second ladder. Strike the false wall in the painting room, then take the stone coffin to Castle Watering Hole. The dormant golem and the raised throwing position are among the ruins ahead.
