About this item
Deals Lightning damage that can link to nearby enemies. Aim at a tightly grouped enemy rather than expecting the chain to reach a distant second target.
Damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with a smaller contribution from Strength. It does not gain Faith scaling simply because the lightning is red.
Each craft uses three Redflesh Mushrooms, two Red Fulgurblooms and an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Throwing the prepared item frees the container for another craft.

Where to find
Crafting after obtaining Greater Potentate's Cookbook [6]
Foot of the Jagged Peak
Starting Site of Grace: Foot of the Jagged Peak
Before you go
- Crafting Kit
- Greater Potentate's Cookbook [6]
- Empty Hefty Cracked Pot
- Ingredients for one pot: 3 Redflesh Mushroom and 2 Red Fulgurbloom
- From Castle Front, follow the road southeast toward Pillar Path Waypoint. At the fork, use the lower road toward Igon rather than climbing to the Suppressing Pillar.
- Continue south-southwest past the broken dragon statues. An Ancient Dragon-Man invades along this approach. The cave entrance is on the left near the end of the path, marked by a fire.
- Activate Dragon's Pit grace and follow the lit passage down. Watch for skeletons below the first ledge and around the next corner. Strike their glowing remains after knocking them down to stop them getting back up.
- In the large cavern with the pillars, follow the left-hand ledge down and take the passage beside the distant crossbow skeleton. Continue onto the sloping stairs in the next chamber.
- Take the downward route toward the large altar and pit. The stairs going up lead to an optional Magma Wyrm; that fight is not needed to reach the exit.
- At the bottom, approach the message beside the deep chasm. Walk straight off this lowest ledge into the pit to land safely by the boss mist. Do not jump from the higher rooms or aim toward the side walls.
- Defeat the Ancient Dragon-Man behind the mist. Open the large doors at the back of the arena instead of using the return-to-entrance exit, then follow the tunnel to Dragon's Pit Terminus grace.
- From Dragon's Pit Terminus, descend to the first drake's lake bed. Use the northeastern archway and follow the path uphill as it bends southeast. The drake fight is optional.
- Continue along the narrow cliff path until you reach a spiritspring on the east side. This is the first spiritspring on the ascent, before the bridge to Foot of the Jagged Peak.
- Before using the spiritspring, turn north toward the skeletons. Loot the seated corpse at the cliff edge for the cookbook.
- If you already reached Foot of the Jagged Peak grace, return northwest across the bridge and descend with the spiritspring to this lower path. The corpse is below the bridge approach, rather than beside the grace.
- Buy the Crafting Kit from Kalé at the Church of Elleh if Item Crafting is still unavailable.
- Bring an empty Hefty Cracked Pot and the listed ingredients. Open Item Crafting outside combat, select Hefty Red Lightning Pot and make the pot.
Notes
- Deals Lightning damage that can link to nearby enemies. Aim at a tightly grouped enemy rather than expecting the chain to reach a distant second target.
- Damage scales most strongly with Dexterity, with a smaller contribution from Strength. It does not gain Faith scaling simply because the lightning is red.
- Each craft uses three Redflesh Mushrooms, two Red Fulgurblooms and an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Throwing the prepared item frees the container for another craft.
- Yellow Fulgurbloom and ordinary Fulgurbloom cannot replace Red Fulgurbloom. The ordinary Hefty Lightning Pot is a different recipe.
- The smaller Red Lightning Pot uses a Ritual Pot. This hefty version shares its containers with other Hefty Cracked Pot recipes instead.
- Using it costs no FP. Carry up to ten, limited further by the number of Hefty Cracked Pots available for crafting.
- Craft the mixture you need before combat. Already filled containers are unavailable for another hefty recipe until emptied.
