1. From Castle Front, follow the southeastern downhill route into the plain with the ruined stone columns. Find the hole in the cliff between two torches and activate Ruined Forge Lava Intake inside.
2. Follow the entrance path past the ghost and climb down the first ladder to the ledge above the lava and suspended pipe.
3. Continue past the side room with the stone golem. Watch the ceiling as you go down the stairs, since lava blobs drop onto the path.
4. Enter the next large chamber and climb down its ladder. Face into the room, climb the stairs on your right and turn right again into the small side area.
5. Loot the cookbook from the corpse there. You do not need to raise the pipe, cross the lava or reach the final altar for this pickup.
6. Buy the Crafting Kit from Kale at Church of Elleh for 300 runes if Item Crafting is unavailable. Keep the cookbook; it remains usable after learning its recipes.
7. Collect the listed ingredients and keep an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Open Item Crafting outside combat, prepare Hefty Volcano Pot and assign it to a quick-item slot or pouch.

Notes

• Creates a larger cloud of repeated Fire hits, lasting a little over three seconds. It is sustained area damage rather than the single hard hit of Hefty Fire Pot.
• Its Fire damage scales mainly with Strength and more weakly with Dexterity. It does not use Faith scaling.
• A large or occupied enemy may be hit many times, while a fast enemy leaving the cloud can waste much of its damage. Do not read the full potential as guaranteed damage per throw.
• Costs no FP but uses a Hefty Cracked Pot and Gas Stones. The ordinary Volcano Pot uses a Cracked Pot and Volcanic Stones instead.
• Against enemies, Companion Jar adds 10% damage to Hefty Pots and Greatjar adds 17%. The normal Jar helmet's small-pot bonus does not apply to this category.
• The Fire hits can consume oil or clear an active Frostbite effect. It does not apply Scarlet Rot or create a special percentage-health burn.
• One craft uses 3 Redflesh Mushroom and 2 Gas Stone and an empty Hefty Cracked Pot. Throwing returns the container, while another mixture needs fresh ingredients.
• Recipes using the same container type share the empty supply. Cracked Pots, Ritual Pots and Hefty Cracked Pots cannot replace one another.
